2. Ok buddy. But i must admit.... how the hell did i have my old stereo running with just a wire going to battery
3. OK. ive found my stereo has the yellow wire with the click together connectors off. reading up it seems this is the Constant 12v power. where should this connect too? its not the blue loose one that has a 3amp fuse is it? cant see any connector on any loom to connect this too :(
4. cheers bud. Nah still cant get no damn power to the stereo. I had power for 10 seconds after putting a new one in but nothing. I even took the earth wire ffrom the ISO to the chassis but still got nothing. I even checked the cable that runs to the ISO from the Positive in the car battey and still can't get power :( getting the hump now but i cant find what i aggitated :(
5. I feel like i should apologise to all on here. I posted on here for help because i was contacting Darren every 5 mins with "somethings wrong" and decided to do the things that darren would do, myself. I wanted to try and diagnose faults myself and see if i can fix them myself and learn about the car abit. The car did come out running ok but i wanted to sort out niggles as they arrived to save darren hassle and to be productive. Got a hand from Santa with other things which i am also grateful for too and from other members who emailed me offering help (thankyou everyone) I sorted alot of the niggles with darren and Santas advice and have got here in the end. I didn't realise that my posts would give people false ideas about others or myself and i am truly sorry if all this could of been avoided by not posting :( I hope we can all learn to get along. Many Wishes to Darren and carl for the work carried out, Many thanks to Santa for coming round and helping me and many thanks for everyone else who offered help or had concerns. Your all a nice bunch of people Regards Damien
6. blimey.. whats going on here. In response to posts here. 1. car came back running on 6, i just got used to running on 5 from not having car on road for long and was advised by Darren that the loom is pretty much foobarred. I think ive been running on 5 for a couple of days after i got my car back but you can see my plugs are pretty much non existant and i asked darren to do what he could in the short time i needed it back in. I didn't quite notice the drops though as my exhaust is crap and made it hard for me to tell properly and for some reason the engine is still fairly smooth when the clips popped off and found it hard at first to notice 2. I have had many Teething problems and whilst it has been a bit of gripe for the last few days ive had help from everyone including darren and pretty much got the car to a nicer running state. Overall i am happy with the work Darren has done and although its been a hectic few days recently i was advised my car will change alot over a week as things bed down. I did panic as i naturally am a panicker but most of my problems come down to my loom and without paying for one i think darren did what he could with my gremlins. Its been a rough ride since last having the car on the road in august 2009 but for now the zed is back. I hate arguments :(
7. yeah i slammed into 4th on the A12 and the car jerked to the side for a second as the wheels spun.. and i have damn good grip. i will be telling my wife to go easy in rain as she is the main driver for work to keep mileage down It;s definately a whole new car now
8. I have but the most biggest smile on my face. I managed to get the injector plugs on properly as it turns out i was on 5 cylinders up until now. The car is soooo smooth on idle and pulls quicker. Then i tackled the DET sensor Bypass....... the car is running how it was when i first got it....... then once bypassed it was a Whole Different monster!!! boost quicker aswell seeing as the ignition is not retarded no more so everything goes quicker :) its a damn beast now and im still only on 7psi. cant wait to get it on stock boost for casual driving and 1 bar for hot days next year. I am SOOO CHUFFED!!!!!
9. Saw you about 6:55 this morning. Tried to say hello but took wrong road and got lost through some crappy 1 way system. Lovely sounding engine :)
10. How wouldi go about doing this?
11. ok. Twiddled clutch adjustment and got gears back. Why would this just go though?
12. cheers jeff. gonna try the pedal next then will report my findings.
13. found it hard to change gear yesterday and remembered that i needed a cap. got one from breakers (micra) and fitted it. this morning i have no clutch whatsoever and have tried bleeding it. the pedal is getting stiff but i am still unable to get it into any gear :( ive tried bleeding by pushing finger hard on like darren at D2 said but although pedal is stiff again i still cant get it into gear to drive :( need help bleeding car
14. Thats Life Jim, but not as he knows it, not as he knows it, not as he knows it. Thats life Jim, but not as he knows it, Not as he knows it, Jim!:rockon: sorry a night of the classic star treks took me away with the stars today
15. dunno about that. Childcare for a month is about £1000 for 5 days a week so that costs me way more than the zed :P
16. congrats to you matey :) i will be a first time daddy in March 2011. You must be getting very excited now and just want it to be born :)
17. Its definately my TPs as its smoother and revs properly with both tps connectors off
18. The bottom one. the top one makes no difference to the engine just got off phone to darren who said that the air control one at the back was causing car to idle at 2.2 and he disconnected it and it ran ok. he connected it up again later i think he said. Do you reckon its a mixture of TPS and the one at the back? anything else i can try ? Darren said he can spare an hour today trying to fiddle
19. car seems fine now. its definately playing up when starting cold
20. done it again this morning :( odd how the car sounds like its missing too on startup and revs moving. Disconnected TPS plug and the car ran at 1100 rpms but smooth with no missing. Put TPS connector back on and its missing. Also if the TPS plug is undone i can rev past 2000rpms but if its plugged in again it wont rev past 2000rpm. In the end it sorted itself out again but its annoying as it does it on every cold start. WIll be ringing Darren back today but have noticed my car has code 34 too. I gave darren new sensor harness to fit so can only imagine its my sensor on top of the main gripe im having
21. this is exactely what my car was doing :( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1I2u6_AJgI
22. ok so after disconnecting TPS and reconnecting it the car ran great all the way to work. Even when driving to shops at break it was fine. Coming out of work at 11pm i turn the car on and the revs kept hunting up and down. tried the TPS disconnect again but the car stalled. Started her up again and decided to drive gently. Felt like missing alot and by the time i got round the corner i decided it just wasn't right. Pulled over and tried disconnect TPS again and the revs seemed to idle normally but with a bit of missing. Now when i tried to go the car kept getting to 2k and jolting back and forth between 1500 and 2000 rpm and wouldnt really go alot. I thought it would be maf but if i revved fast i could rev past 2k but if i revs slowly the car would not go past 2k revs at all. everntuall i tap;ped everything i could, including trying to push PTU connectors in more and started her up. Seemed to be fine and i could eventually drive home without fault.. Now what the hell is happening to my car lol :(
23. darren did say there would be teething problems and to let him know what happens in a weeks time :) so far ive fixed TPS. just got to sort out what appears to be the sound of stones when i start car (start motor making sounds) and not having any sound :( but so far the ride has been brilliant. minus the wide open throttle fault that i want fixed
24. i sorted it :) read a post and disconnected TPS. engine revs dropped and when i reconnected it it stayed at normal idle :) first job ive fixed on my own :P but on another note i got locked out of zed this morning too. AA came but i already broke into it :)
25. Got nowhere with stereo but now today my car is revving at 2k at idle and when changing gear and having clutch in. I had a wiggle of all connectors at front and side of plenum this morning so do you think ive knocked something?
