  1. Thanks for the feedback. I decided to lose one of the reversing lights, put a red bulb in and some red plastic. Don't understand the electrics myself so asked someone to connect it to the existing front fog switch - hey presto, all done.
  2. Hi all, I'm looking to remove the rear spoiler and wiper from my Zed and am wondering if anyone has done this, have any advice to minimise cost re: filling and paint etc. Not looking to spend a fortune but interested to know if anyone has done this? Many thanks.
  3. Just back from the MOT and told that the car does not have rear fog lights. 1994/M. I was convinced it already had working front as well as rear fogs and they have been working (inadvertently) when one of the front side lights was out. If you've modified your Zed and in Berkshire and wouldn't mind helping me out then please let me know, need to get this done asap. Many thanks.
  4. No, the fuse is fine and so is the interior light. The bulb was a little loose but is now tight and I checked, no change to the alarm. Worth a try though.
  5. That's a good point, the interior light hasn't been working for a while and even then, sporadically. Thanks, I'll go and have a look. But I checked all the fuses already and they are ok (to the right of the accel. pedal). Will post again in a bit...
  6. I used a carb. cleaning spray product. It seemed to do the trick. I noticed the same flat spot pre- and post cleaning so I didn't think it was related. Have you experienced something similar and do you think it is MAF related? Thanks, Alex
  7. Would it be normal for a Z32 TT to have a flat spot? I once took the stock air filters out for a while and let the car zoom through to 80 with no flat spot at all, just great accel all the way. After replacing with new air filters, and cleaning the MAF sensor, it now seems to get to about 60'ish with a slight hesitating and somewhat annoying flat spot. Btw, it's an Auto and I'm in drive at the time, without the overdrive, power or hold switches on. If I stick her in 1st with power and overdrive, it of course zooms, but still, the same flat spot when I move into second at around the 60 mark. Any ideas? Or is this normal behaviour for an unmodified Z32? Many thanks, Alex
  8. Thanks guys appreciate the quick response. The led doesn't blink with the fault code now, but it used to blink a certain number of times to indicate what the issue was. The fuses are all ok. I'll check and clean all of the switches as suggested though. Everything used to work just great. Do you know if the central locking has a separate switch, relay or fuse? Japanese manuals are challenging! Cheers, Alex
  9. Just thought I would share this, it may help someone with a similar problem one day. My Z32 was doing mid-130's at the time (someone else driving of course?!) and the engine missed a heartbeat, then another and another and then the revs started dropping quite rapidly. After pulling over, it stalled but started again. It would drive up to about 2,500rpm but not over, i.e. sounded like it was rev-limited. Finally got back home and turned to the internet thinking it was a sensor, CTS perhaps, or MAF. I opened the passenger footwell cover and put the engine diag. into Aux mode and saw that the car reported that it was the MAF sensor which is likely to be playing up. So, I reset the diag and tried again and the same diagnosis. So I pulled the MAF and after cleaning, it looked like everything was in order to me, so I put it back. The engine run fine until warm and then the same problems struck again. But this time, I distinctly thought that it was better than before, especially on a steady idle. After searching around the internet for a while, I saw that others had sprayed the little transistor/resistors inside the MAF sensor opening (from the back and from the front) with a carburettor cleaner that disintegrates fine dirt (that cost just £3 by the way). I did that a few times actually, and tried cleaning it carefully with some tissue. Put the whole thing back together and hey presto, the car has been faultless (engine wise) since and idles and runs much better than it ever did. I'm sure that the vast majority on this forum know this already, but thought I would share it for those who didn't. Happy flying...:hyper:
  10. Hi all, When I try to activate my alarm, the central locking no longer functions and as a result, the alarm does not activate. It's a Hawk CAT1. Any ideas what I should be checking, is there a relay or special fuse to check under the steering? When I try to activate the alarm, the indicator relay activates and the lights flash, however, I also get another single clicking sound from the front of the car, behind the steering wheel - if that helps. Just thought somebody might know about this, before start clutching at straws?!! Many thanks, Alex
