  1. My mate's Sierra has a flat battery (been sitting like that for weeks). I'm gonna try and charge it with my 'inteligent' charger. If that doesn't work, is it OK to jump start it from my 300? Should I have my engine on or off when I try? Cheers lads!
  2. Yamaha Fazer 600 is great. Not everyone's idea of pretty but I think it looks ok. Fast, amazing brakes, comfortable and if the slightly soft suspension does bother you (its harder than a Bandit) it's easy to upgrade. I had two for a year each recently and I've had quite a few bikes. If insurance is expensive the SV650 would be better as it's a lower group. It has a more sporty riding position but that's not always good.
  3. This is post whoring, for example!
  4. We often use the phrase 'post whore' for anyone making lots of posts simply in order to increase their post count. Which makes Greg..... a big whore :smash:
  5. I live in Peterborough and could look at it if that helps. I'm no expert though. It seems a expensive but the protection you get if you buy from a dealer could be worth ££££. What do you think he paid for it? I bet it was no more than £3k.
  6. The Bandit's a good bike with a decent pillion seat and pegs. The suspension's soft so with two people it'll be really wobbly though. The Honda Hornet and Yamaha Fazer are better bikes but with worse pillion accomodation. ZX-6R's vary hugely depending on what year you get. Since 2002 they've been mad track bikes but before then some were good all rounders. The CBR600 is a safe bet and a brilliant bike but they're popular so hold their value well second hand. If you want, PM me an address and I'll put a magazine and price guide in the post for you.
  7. I hear what you're saying but is abroad any better?
  8. He's tried using 'drive' also putting it by hand into '2' and '3'. It's the same in all - won't go above second gear. Thanks for the help so far gents!
  9. It's absolutley as normal but just won't change up out of second.
  10. My mate has an old Merc (a 190, about 1990, 2 Litre auto) The autobox stopped working today - it won't go above second gear. It was fine before and works ok now but only in 1st and 2nd gears - any ideas what it might be? Cheers lads!
  11. lol - I do have clear side repeaters though!
  12. Mine is 2+2 NA if that helps
  13. I think Benny Hill did nothing worse than not having sex but getting the girls from his TV show to wnak him off instead. As for Jackson he may or may not have touched children but he sure could dance. [south Park quote]
  14. Surely it's only right we pay lots of tax to support those folks who choose not to work, bless them. :smash:

If that's true, surely people in your industry won't be too bothered that you lashed out at someone else in the same trade and you'll be fine. It's not like you're a teacher who beats up the kids or anything. It's no fun being sacked, especially as you were in the right until you started hitting and of course you have my sympathy. I wouldn't say 'yes, you did the right thing' though no matter who was or wasn't there at the time. If you think you were in the right then maybe you were as you know all the facts. I'm not a fan of violence except as a total last resort.

Will be there Sat / Sun. Possibly even Friday too. I do live nearby but I'm keen to show you guys what real drinking is so might camp.
  17. I'm hoping to make it to this one but it's a fair old way so it's not looking that likely - we'll see!

Very sorry to hear you lost you job. The other guy was clearly in the wrong. And it's great you feel really passionate about your job and your team and their overall performance. But I'd say it probably wasn't the best thing to hit him. It's unprofessional and probably doesn't help anything, just causes more grief (especially for you). Hope it all works out. And army special units / bodyguarding ?    I'm just some soft desk job paper pusher.

You pay on the door £10 per person to get in, then £15 to 'sign on' which lets you do as many runs on the strip as you like. You need your licence. (not like the 'signing on' I'm used to on giro day!)
  21. Should point out this is me though!
  22. Like it Bob!
  23. And hi there Kerry - enjoy the forum!
