Welcome to the forum Big G :duffer:
  2. The 'power' light comes on when the car thinks you're driving hard. As said above, it makes it quicker. You can also turn it on manualy with the power/hold switch on the autobox.

I was going to offer a break dancing workshop: Part 1) footwork, the six step and the two step Part 2) power-moves and freezes Part 3) competitive dancing and team events "The caterpillar" will obviously not be included. I can cover "the flail", "the windmill" and "the electric boogaloo". It's not difficult: footwork, footwork, footwork, footwork, power-move, power-move, freeze.
  4. I still think Oliver is a fat tongued mockney wnaker. On that school dinners show he kept saying: "I'm giving the dinner ladies real dignity", as though they didn't have any before hand and after he came along. I think the campaigne is a great idea though - getting kids to eat healthy. I suspect it's not in the Government's interest though. I was once told the financial benefit to them from people not claiming state pensions as they died from smoking related diseases was greater than the tax the Government got from cigarette sales.
  5. Yep - they were an option on mine as it's an NA. And mine doesn't have them.   On the plus side, my 'regular' headlights work fine on dip beam and are brilliant on main so I wonder if a problem (dirt on the lenses) develops over time rather than the headlights just being rubbish from new. On a similar note of "Were they always shyte or has age knackered them?", my brakes are ace too. (not wanting to blow my own trumpet - as if I could ! :smash: )
  6. Ryan / Ztech isn't a million miles from you - I'd give him a ring. £6K sounds just daft (you could buy 2 more Zs for that!)
  7. Aaaarrgghhhh ... it's not just my local council then. :headvswal Everyone I know who works for the council only spends about two hours a day working and the rest of the time they just muck about or run their own businesses from their desks at work etc etc :headvswal And then they give us all this bin grief! :headvswal
  8. One wheelie bin was useful. The second (for certain recyclin items which need washing first) was a pain. Now the council have delivered a third one for garden waste! My garden is all slabs and gravel so I don't need it anyway. Three wheelie bins take up a load of space and look scruffy! I'm gonna send the bugger back. :headvswal Does anyone else have multiple wheelie bins or is it just my daft council?
  9. Tell him to ask on http://www.sxoc.com - great site!
  10. I think Apex Performance were offering them on special offer - might have been S14-15 conversions though....
  11. I'm no expert but I spoke to Silkolene / Fuchs (chief?) R&D chemist who is also a petrol head recently. It was him that said go for Dot 4 over Dot 5.
  12. Sounds good. I understand you're better with DoT 4 than 5 as some DoT 5s are silicone based and won't mix with ther fluids and cause other problems. I good DoT 4 (maybe one labelled 'racing') would be what I'd go for.
  13. Peterborough! EMAP offices not good - they put in bollards out of office hours to stop the break ins! I'll have a think and get back to you.
  14. Isn't most 'proper' fade the fluid boiling? Needs replacing every two years. If the ABS cuts in too much that's not right but not really 'fade'. Pads always seem ok until they wear out in my (limited, motorbike based) experience.
  15. maybe... just maybe.... I'm short on holiday this year as I'm getting married and so are three mates (at different times obviously) so there's a honeymoon and four stag 'events' to fit in (and I just came back from 5 days in Amsterdam)
  16. Never noticed anything like that in my NA. I'll keep an eye (?!) out for it as the weather gets warmer.
  17. They do look good! BTW, does anyone know roughly what a regular wheel refurb costs to get rid of a little corrosion? Do they have to take the tyres off?
  18. I found the standard wheels really difficult to get clean - used several cleaners and a big brush - but never got them that good.
  19. Good point! Hope the recovery continues well mate.
  20. Three for a pound, three for a pound.

The interior on those things is just gorgeous (as far as I can tell from peeking in the windows). Blaady lavverly etc.
  22. Wow, that does look like a good meet. Good shoes too, girls!
  23. "See this corrosion, that's near the suspension mounts so I'm gonna have to fail it."
  24. Ooohhhh, you little tinker! Well I like my car! :duffer:
  25. Like the Merc - you could be running some 'hoes' from that bad boy! :nana2:
