Can't help meself.. here goes.. :dance: Get a 'pop out' map, often sold in Insideout travel books. Waterstones sell them. I guess you're flying and will land at Schipol. It's 15 miles to Amsterdam. A taxi is 30 Euros I think and the train about 4 per person but I find the signs confusing - ask someone which train you get on. In Amsterdam use the trams. Buy a 15 Euro 'strippenkart' from a shop that sells fags and stuff. Stamp it twice per person per journey on each trip in the machines on the trams - easy and fast way to get about otherwise you will get knackered. The red light district is worth a look round and lots of bars and restaurants and coffee shops and hookers in windows some of who are gorgeous. Burly men on bridges will offer you crack. For smoking dope, try the Greenhouse coffee shop on Oudezijds Voorburgwal where it meets Oude Doelenstr (at the south of the red light district). I've tried a fair few and this one has great atmosphere, great dope and beer too. The Leidesplien has good night life and bars etc (as does the red light district). The Grasshopper at Leidesplein is quite good in the evenings. The BoomChicago show is not worth seeing. I've been to the Van Gough Museum three times - it's really good. Reiksmuseum and Anne Frank's house weren't as good. If you're with a girlfriend or couples and want a fancy meal try the supperclub (http://www.supperclub.nl). You'd have to book now though. Rather than "mens" and "womens" toilets they have "hetero" and "homo" and they say it's an "avante guard dining experience", not a restaurant! If you haven't booked accomodation try http://www.hotels.nl (not http://www.hotles.nl !) But whatever you do, you will have a GOOD TIME! :) :) :) :) :)

I've been about ten times in the last ten years. I LOVE the place. I'm going there for my stag weekend in September. :dance: Past trips have been mainly with mates but been twice with g/f too so have a few favourite places. What do you want to do there?

Mate - I went to Sri Lanka last year and had an awesome time. I just booked the flight out there and the first two days in a hotel then played it by ear from then for the remanining 12 days - went all over the place. I could recommend some great places if you're thinking of moving round the place a bit. And if you're having anti malarial tablets, PLEASE, PLEASE don't take Lariam - they did terrible things to my g/f.

I got a sony Cybershot in Japan and downloaded a manual last year. That link works fine on my computer (Mac) - but I only got four pages of what looks like generic Sony manual.

C0ck suckers! Someone dinged my door with their door in Tecos car park then drove off. I saw them from a long diatance away. People don't own up cos they don't want to loose their NCB, pay the exess etc. It makes me angry but that really doesn't help - you just have to shrug it off as 'one of those things' and sort the damage yourself. The Mrs' Polo got dinged three times in two weeks once!

The central brake light (in the boot lid) only seems to be working on one side. Is this a conventional bulb (not LEDs) ? Any idea how easy it is to change? I can't see now cos it's dark but I'll probably not be much better in the light! Cheers gents Tim

Like most kit cars it will be made of rivets and have sharp edges that cut you when you get in. You'd be better of with an Elise or VX220 IMHO.
