Breaking?
This the point i was making to you in the other tread its alot of hassle to break, and will take a while, then you got the job of researching prices for individual parts and removing bits, and to be fair i dont really think most would buy parts of a car like even tho its mainly engine and rust issues. it would cost you to store the car and break and at the end of it you may not have any noticeable cash to show for it as you may be tempted to spend the bits of money from sold parts off the car, especially as christmas is round the corner. If you fix the car, which ever way re-shelling or rebuild at least you have something to show for all the trouble. You will have alot more stress having to strip the car down

A call to the community
very true at this stage there is nothing to lose and infact more to gain and if criag does decide to go the breakers route later on in the future with the offer, at least the parts of the car would likely be off at this stage and easier to sell. its all good saying break it but that still cost time and even money in labour to remove some items as most peeps interested in parts do not want to concern themselves with having to removes parts off the the car themselves. breaking takes time and you will not likely get the money back in chunks and will probably end up spending without realising over time so when ur left with the bare shell you may wonder where all the cash went? it happens id say again take the offer.

A call to the community
well im not sure if i have any parts that i think would be of use but i will offer a hand if needed in the sound department as i specialise in audio/visual installation and other areas of sound and been doing so for quite a few years ....this reminds me of that american show Overhauled :D

workshop with oven
im usually sceptic about anyone posing to know anything about working on zeds but Terry worked on my car over the weekend and all i can say is he is a true enthusiast. What impressed me is the fact he went well out his way to finishing and getting the bits on my car fitted and sorted with attention to detail. not many honest mechanics like this around. certainly recommended from my experience.

Smoked rear lights
that is some horrendous photoshop there anyways these are mine, pics aint great but you get the idea note: my boot is not sitting flush at the momoment and is not the gap from the lights
-
Smoked rear lights
i actually have the non-smoked version of these, they do look good but the gaps between the centre panel is abit disappointing. They dont mist up or leak so the quality is not too bad. i do wonder what the smoked ones look like fitted. il post up a picture of what mine look like if anyone's interested

Thoughts on this for my mate as a daily driver
interesting...i didnt know those are that cheap already used to have the previous model quite some years back and it had its fair share of issues but all round a decent car, very good grip for its size, ignition coils tend to go on them but parts are very cheap if you know where to look love the keyless card entry system on those

300zx vs e92 m3 no video
of the ones iv been in, i would say its very much the other way round, the power of the M3 feels quite raw and responsive but the zed feels sluggish in comparison, maybe because the zed is so smooth. the one you drove must be really poor running
-
300zx vs e92 m3 no video
bare in mind drive train loss and gear ratios will make a difference despite having a similar power to weight ratio

salvage m3 convertible e46
believe it or not its a more practical car, esp for every day use

salvage m3 convertible e46

how does a 300 do against
you forgot to add the weight of 4 peeps he had in the zed:D off topic random question anyone got a set of coilovers for sale?
-
how does a 300 do against
this is so much jokes. exactly as said above, your stats still show the SL55 to be faster and asides from that real world performance as we know can far differ from the specs. Like iv said, i have experienced what these cars are like at speed and rolling starts, and when remapped there's not really much that gets in the way of them, there is power at any gear at any speed, which is also down to torque curve the supercharger gives. i know what beast the Zx can be but im sure myself and most owners here know when we are abit out of our league when comparing the performance of other very fast cars So out of curiosity what are the exact specs of you ZX?
-
how does a 300 do against
at speed is were the SL55 comes into its own and if pulling off at say 60 or even 100, thats were you aint see which way it went at speed. this get even more ridiculous to me that you've had 7 people in a zed before aswell, and doing them sort of speeds with children...hmmmm, but anyways... your friends SL55 must have had his handbrake on, or have very serious issues especially if it is de-restricted which im assuming its 'supposed' to be remapped
-
how does a 300 do against
erm the M3 maybe. but an SL55? i dont often say it but that is a load of BS and is even laughable with the fact that your car was loaded with 4 of you. The SL55 is a beast of a car that will hand many cars its ass to them including the ZX and M3 with ease. They have so much torque and not to mention 500bhp. to my surprise as iv seen first hand, a gallardo (early model) has trouble keeping up with a E55 which is slower than the SL sounds like porkies to me.
-
Parts from other cars that fit the 300ZX?
iv heard that the skyline R32 suspension fits the Zed with slight modification to the pillow mounts but does anyone know if the 200SX S13 rear shocks and springs fit?

Company car for £25k
i was gonna say the same thing. thats interesting coming from a man who loves astras, i guess beauty really is in the eye of the beholder:D anyways on subject i would go for the 1 series coupe, handles very well and drives very nicely but the back seats are a joke.
