  1. Haven't seen Lee on here for a while.... Where is he ? Heard a rumour he's bringing in some 2000 series zed's from the land of the rising sun If they're as good as the other zed's he's sold us they'll be mint ! Come on Lee... show your face
  2. Hi Si I thought you might have changed your order for the new scirroco.... seen some really nive fully loaded ones of those on my travels
  3. It will drop in and out of overdrive very easily and smoothly no matter how hard you are driving because the gearbox software is adaptive... i.e. it changes the settings according to how you're driving at the time. In the maual the recommendation is to only manually disable the o/d if you're travelling slowly through town or city traffic
  4. First port of call is Zedworld in Tamworth... 01827 311190 Jeff, Jamie or Linda
  5. Bad luck that .... a deer doing 50 mph ! Hope it's sortable without jig and strech
  6. Can't do today ..... Turbo gone..... Into zedworld on 19th for a week tgo get two fully refurbed and uograded ones on.... don't what that'll do for the power...
  7. Download the free version of AVG from Grisoft.com
  8. Good Idea I've not been wrong when I've watched the weather maps and taking a fdlyer on going up there If everyone can do it at short notice that's fine The route would be Kendal, Windermere, Ambleside, Langdale Valley, Over the passes to Wasdale head, Lunch there and then back via Newbey Bridge That's doable in long day
  9. We need to keep an eye on the long range weather forecasts because we need to do that in clear air and with the roads dry... and the roofs off !
  10. If It's only an in and out connection doesn't that suggest that the break in circuit will stop the rest of the system working ? Shouldn't there be a main circuit with the radiators feeding of the primary and out th to the return ?
  11. there is one Tight U bend on the passes where the gradient is abot 48%- 50% it's a fabulous bend, You have to take a run at it. Last time I did it I still had the auto box in and It nearly bloody stalled.... Poower steering shut down, revs dropped but it made it.... Brilliant and then the down hill run from the top is AWWWSome Camn't wait to do it again
  12. All costs are relative.... There's loads of value for money B & Bs in Ambleside as well as some great restaurants there.... Or stay at at new Dungeon Ghyll.... don't know how much that is these days Easily sorted with a few phone calls though !
  13. Beats most of the Top Gear Roads..... these are real old roads that'll test your suspension out for real !
  14. Google the Wrynose and have a look at how steep that is and thats the flattest part of the Hardknott
  15. Kirkstone is a stroll in the park compared to the other two ! Be good to have a meet up there and do the two ! Can only do it in the dry cos of some of the gradients !
  16. I know it well.... Been to the Langdales since I was a kid Did you try going over the Wrynose and Hardknott passes round to Wasdale and Wasdale Head? Awesome drive in a Zed. The Pub at Wasdale Head is run by two gay Americans who are a real scream Did that about 18 months ago and stopped on the way up to take a pic looking back, got caught up by a TVR. Led the TVR all the up and down and then on the ascent up the Hardnott we caught a M3 convertable and a 911. Four of stayed in convoy for the rest of the way Absolutely fabulous turning heads and getting quizzical looks !
  17. Just a point... Were you selecting overdrive manually.... if so How ? That could be the problem
  18. Yes, and if you put HIDs in the main beam you lose the ability to flash the headlights. The dipped beam should be more than adequate and is brighter than the main beam, even with uprated Halogen or Xenon bulbs
  19. Dan I hate to dispute what you are saying but I've got HIDs in both the dipped and Fogs. In very heavy rain and the snow the Fogs worked superbly. They are so low they light along the road where the dipped beams can't And that was on a drive from Preston to Weston in Torrential Rain and back up in near blizzard conditions. I suppose I'm just lucky on the fitment but I'm glad I did it
  20. If it's one side and white I think it will be the turbo... PCV failure smoke is blue
  21. Repost ! Don't think it'll sell at that price though....
  22. Hi Jeff How much would it cost to refurb an auto Box ? Or the usual price for a manual conversion ? Tony
  23. What if the membership secretary throws a sickie ?
  24. Got a new leather and suede interior coming !
  25. Should've put the batteries in the back and made it a hybrid !
