HICAS Fault after steering new wheel boss
sh1t! yea i completley dismantled the old boss. But the new one didn't have any plate on with tabs, just the two long metal hex studs. I've phoned up RSM where i bought it from and they said its the only one momo do, and that sparco only do one as well thats basically the same.

HICAS Fault after steering new wheel boss
sorry didn't read the message correctly. The boss was just straight through. 6 fixing holes on the front and a circular contact plate on the back. But it did have 2 hexagonal locating studs, about 25mm long on the inside of the plate at the back which i couldn't figure out. Have i been given the wrong one?

HICAS Fault after steering new wheel boss
Bugger!! How do i sort that out then? When the wheels are straight, and i'm driving down a straight road, the steering wheel seems in line.

HICAS Fault after steering new wheel boss
I've recently put a new steering wheel boss on, which was a pain in the arse to fit. I ended up taking all the old boss/electronics off and re-fitting the plate with the 3 contacts only. I then realised that each electrode controls something different and the contact plate on the end of the boss only contacts with the middle electrode only. I rewired it thinking that they were for the cruise control only, so that the middle electrode was for the horn. The very first sharp corner i came to the HICAS light came on. Now i need to know how i'm supposed to fit the boss properly, and also which way round the wires went to set them back to normal. Can i still drive round with this light on or not??? Thanks..........

Air Con
Cheers mate.

Air Con
My air con isn't blowing out cold air anymore, even when you set it to 10 degrees. i presume it needs refilling, can i do it myself or do i need to take it to someone. If so will any old halfords do or does it need to be a specialist?

Squeaky pedals!
My brake pedal has been squeaking for ages now, but i haven't been arsed to lube it. Now i've noticed that when i press the clutch pedal its rubbing..not quite a squeak but almost like the sound of a small dump valve everytime i press the pedal. I've had a look to see if anything is rubbing but can't see nothing. Is there any particular joint that needs lubricating or is it a case of saturating the entire lot in grease?????

Alternative to NGK
i've put BERU plugs in mine the last two changes. I get them from my local motorsport shop RSM and i can't fault them. They're 4 electrode platinum tipped thing and cost about £5 each.

New Clutch
Hi again... My clutch is just starting to display the symptoms of it going so i'm going to upgrade it. I know thats its been asked many times before but which is better????the two i'm thinking of are either a AP Racing or RPS in America. Which would prove more cost effective and which is easier to use in traffic???? Thanks.........

About to throw the towel in!!!!
Finally figured out what was wrong with it.Before i drove it to nissan i emptied the tank and filled it up again.......the car is now running sweet as a nut.Looks like i had dodgy optimax in it!!!!!!!!! Still went to nissan and they ran it through the consult and they said apparantly my base idle was all to cock and i had to book it in.The car is idling ok though, nothing to bad the only thing i've noticed is since i've got the car is when it comes to a stop it sits at about 1100rpm for about 30 seconds then drops down to about 750,I thought this was normal though.

About to throw the towel in!!!!
Yea thats me...I've done a few things to it as well as the body kit. I'm taking it to chorley nissan today just to run it through the consult as its under the warrenty.if its anything else i'll do it my self tho, so i might need you in the near future! Thanks.

About to throw the towel in!!!!

About to throw the towel in!!!!
Thanks guys, my car sounds like a machine gun when you try to accelerate. It 'jumps' violently with each bang and nearly stops dead in the road and doesn't clear no matter how much i try to rev it. I'm taking it to nissan cos it's just had a brand spanker put on and i won't have to pay for them to look at it. Also if it is the MAS then its now my FOURTH since christmas. i put a new one on, the car runs for about 1 month sweet as a nut then goes without warning. I think something is shafting the unit somehow. If anyone has got a consult near me then give us a shout....i'll pay for any go-juice and there might be a pub lunch and a few beers in it for someone!!!

About to throw the towel in!!!!
Just coming home from work about 10 mins ago and the bloody car started to misfire again!!!!What the f**k can it be cos its just come back from a month at nissan and they said the only thing wrong with it was the MAS.If its not right tomorrow i'm taking it straight back to chorley as its got a 1 year warranty on it.I have a sneaking suspision thats its going to cost me a fortune as they will say its something new, and i'm fast running out of money to keep repairing it.If it does cost me, then that will be it for me so if anyone is interested in in buying a very good zed with a few things done to it then give me a ring or email your number and once its running properly again i'll probably sell it. My number is 07815915590 anytime between 8.00 and 22.00.

Idle ramps up.
My car has just started to rev when ever i drop the clutch. Also if i lift off when driving i start to accelerate!!! A bit scary when i'm aproaching a junction. If i rev it manually it drops back down to normal. I'm going to have a look at it tomorrow in the light but any ideas?? Thanks....

NangKang Tyres
Nangkang are a subdivision of yokohama, they are kind of the really cheap crappy end of the company. If you find a dealler who knows this then he will try to fob you off by saying they are the same as yoko's. As said before they are rock hard and have about as much grip as a dried turd on a pool of ice!! I'm using bridgestones on the front and fulda extremos on the back and the zed sticks to the road just fine.

Pissed off big time!!!!
Yea i know but this is my 2nd MAS since christmas and this time if i get a new un from them and they fit it, if it goes again i've got the warrenty and they will have to sort it out. The others have been second hand from optimum autos, but i'm still a bit worried at how fast they are breaking.

Pissed off big time!!!!
I've bit the bullet and taken it to nissan. They have just got in touch with me and said its the air flow sensor, even though the ECU diag says its ok. Ker Ching!!!!!£489.42 please!!!!

Pissed off big time!!!!
I've got hold of a fuel pressure gauge and the pressure stays at abou 40 psi. Removed the vacuum pipe from the regulator and the pressure went up to about 45 psi. The tech manual says this is how it should work. The coolant sensor is working fine, the fan doesn't come on, but if you pull the connector off the engine, the fan comes on and the engine will start to misfire and stall. i've noticed today that its idling and reving fine when the engine is stone cold but as soon as the engine starts to warm up then it starts to misfire and if you try to rev it when warm it starts to stall. I've been told than it could be my exaust collapsed internally? But i've never heard of that.

Pissed off big time!!!!
sorry, the plugs seem ok, but i'll check them tomorrow. the thing is the car was running spot on and then 4 hours later the next time i drove it, i couldn't even make it down the road.
