  4. This sounds like it's worth a try! Petrol Prices See what you think and pass it on if you agree with it…. We are hitting 95p a litre in some areas now, soon we will be faced with paying £1 a litre!!!! This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy petrol on a certain day campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to hurt ourselves by refusing to buy petrol. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work. Please read it and join in! Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a litre is CHEAP, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the market place not sellers. With the price of petrol going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of petrol come down is if we hit someone in the pocket by not purchasing their Petrol! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. Here's the idea: For the rest of this year DON'T purchase ANY petrol from the two biggest oil companies (which now are one),ESSO and BP. If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact we need to reach literally millions of Esso and BP petrol buyers. It's really simple to do!! Now, don't whimp out on me at this point... keep reading and I'll xplain how simple it is to reach millions of people!! I am sending this note to a lot of people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it.....THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! Again, all You have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all (and not buy at ESSO/BP) How long would all that take? If each of us sends this message out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8days!!! Acting together we can make a difference. PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE 69p a LITRE RANGE It's easy to make this happen. Just forward this email, and buy your petrol at Shell, Asda, Tesco, Sainsburys, Morrisons Jet etc. i.e. boycott BP and Esso
  5. ASSISTANCE REQUIRED PLEASE: Thinking about changing the colour to the Zed. I took the engine out of it today for a bit of an overhaul, cleanup and some shiny bits.....but..... I was thinking of changing the cars colour while the engines out. Only thing is what colour? :hurl: Everyone i've seen is white, grey, red, blue, black,or silver but wanted to go for something different just don't know what... :slap: Any ideas? Can't afford amazing airbrushed, rag rolled (Karl300zx's just popped into mind) but fancy doing something different. Open to suggestions please

i went through old street but wasn't until about 3 ish
  10. so how about if the valves were to be moved closer to the air filter?????? :nelson:
  11. insulation tape a a nice sharp hacksaw blade
  12. http://www.thumper300zx.com/z32 try that one then click on z32 pages then boost leak guide
  13. try carrying out a boost leak test it may be that you have an after turbo vaccuum leak. http://www.thumper300zx.com/z32/boo..._leak_guide.htm
  14. Quite good really. considering the 300 was discontinued in England because of the high emissions which they said would never pass the mot's Mine CO: 0.0 % vol HC: 0.0% vol Probably something to do with the engine being in little peices all over the conservatory floor annoying the missus lol
  15. How loud is loud??? You will get a certain amount of noise from the tubs caused by the recirc valves which is totally normal. Are you losing any boost pressure at all?
  16. should work mate. Moving it closer will give you a bit more pressure when the turbo dumps the excess boost as the distance travelled is shorter. Technically the idea works. Give it a go see if it works mate
  17. Slowhand is right the noise is the recirc valves. Have a look at the intake manifold you will see a small pipe that runs to it from the recirc valve which put's the excess boost pressure back into the inlet. Hence the term recirc!!! You might have a split in this pipe
  18. Lmao seems as though you all like your air con then...... I have seen the adverts for kwik-fit they will carry out a vaccum test on the system to ensure there are no leaks then regas the system. No sure whether it's an air con check or regas though. :slap:
  19. http://www.myspace.com/spanky321
  20. suppose it a personal preference thing..... Dump vavles don't really add any performance value unless your running very high BHP. Suppose it's more a crowd pleaser and grin value more than anything.... Fast and Furious...lol.... more furious at the price paid to power gained
  21. When you step off the throttle, the turbo is still spinning and is forced to stop very quickly, due to that the air has no where to go. When you then step on the throttle, the turbo has to rev up again. This takes time, and the car feels tired. When you close the throttle, a vacuum is built up after the throttle. A hose goes from the inlet to the dump valve, and the built up vacuum sucks up the plenum valve inside the dump valve, and releases the over pressure built up before the throttle. The air goes out into the engine compartment and creates a the sound you hear from turbo. When you then start to accelerate, the vacuum disappears, and the dump valve closes, and the turbo pressure is on top at once. The car feels a lot more powerful than before. This is why you will not hear the vavlves at low revs. You need to have the turbo's creating enough boost to have the excess pressure to blow out of the turbo's. The only way you will get the valves to work sooner is to have your turbo's kick in sooner i.e lower revs.
  22. sounds like the cars over fuelling. Could be the MAF.. Do you still have the stock ECU or is it a chipped version??? has the ECU been remapped at all?
