Ok before u go too mad try running the engine while spraying some wd40 around all poss vac leak areas Even around throttle bodies & at the rear around the idle control valve! Then try around the plenum! Doing it like this if there is a leak it should suck the wd40 in & raise the revs! ;)

Yes they are good kits from the ones I've seen! The diy covering by members myself included is normally just the panels eg door cards centre consul etc but not the seats, unless they fitted one of those kits we were talking about!

If u get the kit off eBay u can fit it yourself! Cost around £275 iirc? Otherwise I wouldn't try it myself unless u have a professional sewing machine & can use it!

Where was smoke coming from? Back right or back left? Coul be a turbo leaking oil onto the down pipes? The rattle is not good maybe get timing checked ! Need to take it to a good zed mechanic to be honest it's a bit hard to diagnose with out seeing or hearing it! But someone else might be better educated than me in this area to help on here .

lol it rattled so they put there foot down harder to burn off a bmw at the lights!! problem solved it the driver!! joking aside... when they lifted the bonnet was it smoke or steam? the answer to this would help lots in solving the issue!!

The exhaust isnt the problem! Boost leak poss, or maf, loose injector, ptu & coil pack conectors do this as when the engine rocks the wires pull etc .. Start with the connectors eliminate the easy fixes

It looks sweet mate u must be chugged! May I ask how u fix the fog ducts in ! I have a set from car mad & will be fitting them this week, I'm assuming tiger seal?

Yeah best way is to use the spark plug type! Also the car needs to be warmed right up & if an auto I think it should be in N & there is a different reading for auto & manual I think one is 15 & one 25 ?
