  1. My Z passed its mot today but the tester advised it may not get through next year, I already know it needs two sills on it, what else is likely to be gone underneath, I know its impossible to say but from maybe your past experiences - does a rotten 300zx underneath usually mean a £500 repair bill or is it likely to be more terminal? Only reason I am asking is I cannot get it on a set of ramps until next week and I can see some sleepless nights coming my way :( :( :(
  2. Should have my standard UK wheels back on soon for a little while whilst I decide which Rotas to go for, (btw these chrome wheels are on ebay now), I still cant decide whether or not I want to go `99 at the front or not...
  3. Thanks guys! Its all UK :) apart from the rear bumper, btw, if anyone is interested in the wheels they may be for sale very soon :)
  4. Thanks guys, no I sort of hybernate in the winter months, the car gets put away in the garage and left until spring. tbh I went through a phase of wanting to sell it, but I have decided to keep it now.
  5. Whilst the weather has been nice today I took some pics of my Z, most of you have seen it before but thought I would share anyway :)
  6. Cheers guys, was also thinking could it be a sticky lifter? But this would be audible throughout the revs and not just under load, correct? Also, was thinking maybe a leaking exhaust gasket maybe?
  7. No, it starts fine and no smoke at all, not from start up or even hard acceleration
  8. A ticking noise, from the engine, only heard when the radio is off/heater fans low/off. At its loudest in top gear at around 1600rpm going uphill. My daily drive is a 2008 (77000 mile) Chrysler 300c SRT common rail diesel A ticking noise, from the engine, only heard when the radio is off/heater fans low/off. At its loudest in top gear at around 1600rpm going uphill. The ticking noise can be heard a lot louder when engine is cold and quietens off when the engine warms, can be heard in all gears but as I say loudest in top gear under load. Today I got the car in top gear at 1600rpm going uphill listening to the ticking noise, I then, without getting it to change gear applyed more pressure to the accelerator, engine noise deepened (under even more load) and ticking got slightly louder but at the same frequency as the revs stayed the same (even though I accelerated more; the revs stayed the same - can only assume the torque converter helps me to do this). What are your thoughts guys? Dan
  9. Nice one guys, given me a few ideas now to try and get them sitting right again now :-)
  10. To be honest I didnt either, but both are definatly lower than they were before the car went into the body shop, so I can only assume the car was perhaps left for a month or so with its doors swung open...
  11. Since coming out of the body shop I have noticed both of my doors are slightly lower than they should be (only at the handle end - the hinge end sits at the right height) What exactly do I need to adjust? Thanks, Dan
  12. I love seeing a bit of shiny wheel under a cover, somthing quite sexy about that
  13. Since about the end of October I have been storing my Z in the garage, perhaps once every 3 weeks or so I am starting it up moving it out of the garage to put my other car in to clean it, once done, starting my z back up and putting it away again. Could this be causing damage to the engine? Thanks, Dan
  14. Wheels are now on ebay if anyone is interested in them :-) I plan on returning to that location for some more pictures now its been resprayed
  15. I can only assume it was poorly as it was parked in the lay by for several hours of the A500 in Stoke on Trent today with nobody with it. Standard tidy looking silver convertible
  16. Saw it today launching from a set of traffic lights along with a green 406 coupe, nice looking car, had the targa panels off, btw if was you and you knew the guy in the 406, he hit one of the vespas!!
  17. Saw it today in Leek, Staffordshire, LWB tt, UK I think, standard looking car...
  18. Cheers guys, I will get the car in the air this weekend. I should say that the wobble is coming through the steering wheel, could this still be the prop and or hicas at fault? Thanks, Dan
  19. My 300ZX shimmys between 50-70mph, I have had the wheels balanced twice now and installed spigot rings to my spacers. Any ideas? Could the tyres be out of shape? Could it be down to worn suspension components? Thanks, Dan
  20. I plan on getting a lip spoiler for it, what do the pre face lift boots look like?
  21. the toyota looks a little tired to me, nissan should of put a z engine in a maxima :-D i remeber there being a hill climb 205 with a z engine in it for sale on ebay a few months back
