i did that one and an this one in the month before, e-type which was number 36 off the production line. i used to end up doing the ones other people didnt want to know. getting wiring diagrams for some is an absolute nightmare. ive only come across one that i never got a diagram for, & that was a ferrari 250gto which belongs to a freind of mine. he purchased it from pete waterman, who rolled it at silverstone.

the v8 is far more versatile than the 30dett will ever be. for what you could spend on getting 500-550 rwhp out of the 30dett, you could probably get more out of the v8 for less, with a lot less hassle. you only have to look at the top fuel drag cars to see what can be done. all v8`s with monsterous neck breaking bhp.

no idea. when i bought mine it lit up green until it decided to bite the dust. i took it apart but the bloody thing cracked while trying to reassemble it :headvswal so am going to use that as a template. i think i can do it without having to dissmantle the unit. will have to wait and see.

yeah. there is the red reflector that stays there. the only thing i need now is the orange indicator bulbs. will post some pics up when finished. im also in the process of fitting blue leds in the centre panel. if that works & looks ok then i can do them in various colours.

yeah. i got mine from japan. lol. still not cheap for bulbs. not these ones anyway.

i would certainly put a complaint in if it was advertised with 12 months mot. in fact, hes got a mobile number on there. take it in turns ringing him all night asking where the other 10 months are. :D

i ended up doing this with mine by accident. had a right job getting them right again, & my rev needle still isnt right, the temp doesnt go half way as it did before either. cant be arsed at the moment to take it back out. make sure they go back to the stop pin on their own and are free, but not the petrol one, thats not free so dont force it.

greg. i think you may find they will remember you being the age they were at the time. kids never seem to forget things. it would not surprise if they have asked questions about you over the years. the only problem you could have is, you dont know what your mother has told them all these years. im not trying to put you off in any way, but its a possibility. at the end of the day, they have a right to see you, and you see them. i would personally pay a visit, or ring up. good luck in whatever decision you make.

if you want to buy it back, you can also request for it not to be put on the register as a cat c or d. i know a few thats done it.

would be nice. its deffo one way to get rid of tailgaters and the plod behind you. your major obstacle would be trying to get it off the drive or out of the garage :D

yes. get this type of thing regular. mainly with the saxos, pugs,corsa & cavi boys. sat at the side of you revving the nuts off them, or tailgating which is the one that really winds me up :rant: . 9 out 10 times i just let them go as we all know, its no contest & not worth the effort.

as it states in the ad, "an investment". its probably the only xjs thats ever going to go up in value rather than drop like a stone. i personally hate the bloody things, worked on many of them over the years and they are a nightmare, and a lot of them now are rotten.

i have a single 5" zigen on mine which was on it when i bought it. it does sound very well & has that burble noise, but as has already been said which i agree with. it doesnt look right with just one.
