  1. This is all in aid of a trip to France I'm planning for April so March would be fine if you were keen? How long would something like this take? I imagine you'd need me to send you dimensions, etc and locations for wiring?? Also I guess some idea of where it needs to go in the boot/spare wheel well? Would be happy to discuss...
  2. Got some 6x9s (Kenwood KFC 6907) and wanted to know whether they would fit ok in the front doors? Is anyone able to help? Just thought I'd ask the question before taking the cards off. also, I assume I won't need an amp to run these? I assumed they would run just fine off the headunit. Thanks
  3. Oops....this should probably be in the help/advice section. Can a mod please move it for me?
  4. I think this is possibly aimed more at the guys on here who have made custom sub boxes in the past... ...I got a Kenwood KFC WS303 12" small enclosure sub off the forum a while back. Just tested it and it does produce sound (which is good as it was free!). Now...I need a sub box and have googled around and I should be able to get one off the internet but was thinking, it would be much much better to have an enclosure that sat well in the Zed's boot, or even better....if I were to remove the spare wheel...in the area left behind?? http://www.carreview.com/cat/car-audio/subwoofers/kenwood/PRD_50752_1808crx.aspx So my questions: 1. For a sub like this, is the spare tyre well even a possibility? 2. Would anyone care to make a custom box for me?? :whistling: I would love to have a go at making my own but lack of tools and space (and time) mean I can't. Obviously I'd be willing to pay for it. So...any takers?
  5. lol...and this put a massive grin on my face!
  6. Really tired but can't be arsed to sleep so just surfing 'the tube' watching random 300zx vids and came across this one...made my laugh at the guy's reaction...lol
  7. Fantastic stuff....amazing people that come up with these things in the first place!!
  8. I recall mine being I think £99 from DTA? Good piece of kit though...but I do need to clean my headlights out as still not quite bright enough!
  9. I never let anyone drive the Zed unless I iknow they can drive (a Zed!). I can count on one hand how many people had and they're all from this forum (or were!). Problem I have is when I have mates with nice cars who offer to let me drive their cars - I think I'm a competent driver and will be most respectful with their pride and joy - the worry is that they will want to drive my Zed in return...NO CHANCE!! lol...so I end up turning down their offer to drive their Lambo/Ferrari, etc....balls.
  10. I guess...a good point. Just got me wondering is all....might see if I can google it just in case...better to be safe than sorry I guess!
  11. You're scaring me! :surrender: But that does make me think of something a mate menrtioned....does anyone know whether any of the mainland EU countries have any strict rules against modified cars?? A mate of mine has a GT4 and was saying he had some issues in Switzerland with engine mods and larger than stock rims!! Managed to get away with it but said it may be an issue...?
  12. I'm in the process if planning a bit of a euro roadtrip too but it's so difficult! Got 5days to do it but torn between driving 7hrs a day and seeing the lakes, alps, south coast, monaco, etc....and just focussing on one thing! Pus the guys that are going with me all have nice cars but aren't so up for driving that much each day. And then there's the option of heading to Nurburgring! Decisions decisions!! Any ideas for a good drive would be more than welcome! lol
  13. Thanks bud, will get in touch with him. Cheers
  14. Thanks for the tips! Something for me to have a go at!! Here's hoping!!!
  15. hmm...interesting! I should have the time and for one...the tools!! Are there any writeups for this sort of thing?? I'm more interested in the seats for now..panels later.
  16. That is very interesting mate! I guess if I know what I want then that could be good but I have no idea! I have some speakers as I said but wouldn't mind getting whatever I need to get a half decent sound ..i.e. amp/sub/diff speakers etc but I know nothing about this sort of stuff so wouldn't know where to even begin!
  17. Cheers buddy. That's what I thought of doing but I only have an ipod dock with speakers at home ;-( Not sure if it#s possible to do it with that? Or I guess just get some speaker wire and hook it up to any 'audio' out?? i.e. on a tv?
  18. I should probably add.....if anyone can recommend any cheaper alternatives for subs/amps then that would be awesome too. Not looking for anything amazing right now but if I can get something half decent for not so much right now as a stop-gap then that would be good. Thanks again!
  19. Another quick one (hopefully)... Got some speaker components a while back from someone on the forum but under the understanding that they may/may not work. Now...how can I test them without wiring them up into the car to check this? I'm not very electrical-literate but there must be some way I can wire them to something?? I don't have a component hifi system with separate amp etc so that's out of the question...any other ways? I only have one speaker working in the car at the moment and AFAIK all speakers are originals. Got an aftermarket cd/radio jobby but it's nothing spectacular. Hope to one day upgrade the entire system to an all singing all dancing carputer system and full sound system upgrade but for the time being just want 4speakers that work! Cheers guys
  20. Are the ebay kits any good?? Pants...I was hoping it would be something I could have a go at. I'm sure others have bought custom made panels and simply had to re-cover themselves?? :confused1:
  21. So having thrown a small fortune at the car in getting the mechanical side updated/fixed and the body in a better shape I want to make a start on the interior. So far it's all completely stock and original (1990!). The seats have the usual rips and holes on the drivers bolster and the leather looks worn. Having spent so much money already I really want to try and keep costs as low as possible, without sacrificing quality too much so was wondering how difficult is it really to do the seats yourself?? I was thinking of replacing the padding, re-covering in leather and possibly adding heated seats. Also the possiblity of adding electric adjustment to the passenger side as the manual adjuster has broken! Can anyone give me a ball park in terms of cost, time and skilltools required?? Also....any pics of people's refurbed interiors would be great to give me some ideas of how I want it all to look! I had toyed with the idea of getting seats from a compeletely different car too as though I think these seats are really comfy (even at their age!), they provide absolutely no support from my upper back upwards as I'm so tall! I can't put the seat up more as my head will hit the targas!! Anyways...any help very much appreciated! Thanks guys Vig
  22. Lol..cheers bud. That's my sister's MX5 in front of the Zed and my old man's new Jag XF (older model)...3L V6 in that and it really does go like stink!! Unbelievable ride comfort as well...if I could get an interior like that into the Zed and get some padding/sound proofing into the panels...waawaaweewaah! And lastly my mum's civic..just a runaround really but she likes it...
  23. Afraid I didn't fit them mate so couldn't tell you...had all the body work done in one go over at Custom Exotics. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to answer your question though if not Carmad himself! Good luck and get some pics up once it's done eh!
