Hi Si no because sometimes a get a horrible cam knock as though the valve is stuck open.And ive changed all the conectors.

Something has happened to my valves. The car pulls great then all of a sudden it starts to missfire like a pig and then returns back to normal.Theres no telling where when or why it happens. I did a compression test and no 3 and 5 cylinders are down to 60psi allthough when its running well you would never believe it. I think its time for a new engine :headvswal And this one has only been in a couple of months :cry: :cry: :cry:

What about a Bomex UAD 118?

Hi Eric i have never heard of anything like this either but there is definatly something come loose in there occasionly causing a valve to stick. I did however find a crack on one of my vacume trees which i brazed up. Do you think its possible a small amount of the braze has come loose and worked itsa way in there? Steve.

Well i think i have . Driving around town yesterday and i heard what i can only describe as a tinkling sound from the plenum area then suddenly it started to missfire. So i pulled over and the car started to run fine again.Then the dreaded cam knock started along with the missfire which only lasted about 30seconds and went again. Anyone had this happen to them? Help and advice appreciated. Steve.

Good idea as i didnt tourqe them up as i didnt know the specs.Anyone know?

Ive done this allready.Phill at C+S Woods reckons it could be a cracked plenum as the leak is immposible to find with all the other methods. Also the air intake valve is screwed right in which was bought like that of a forum member.I also think if it was screwed half way out where it should be the car would not run.

Thanks. I was thinking of putting it my vacume leak tester and blowing a small amount of air if nothing comes through.

Has anyone used these to find leaks? I have a bloody air leak on my car which is causing it to run lumpy and stall at junctions. Im beginning to think i have a crack in my plenum.Would a smoke bomb placed where the maf goes find this?The problem is its drawing air in,but surely what goes in must come out. Anyone? I should imagine the drivers side would be a bugger to change allthough both going together i find very strange. Are you running a boost controler? Have you tried putting 10psi down the actuator pipe to seeif the arm moves? steve.

I had the same the other week with a guy with a xk jag(didnt want to swap though).He was walking around itwhile i was filling up with a big grin on his face asking me all sorts of questions.You should of seen his face when i told him what it was and what i paid for it. :shock:
