Hi guys just a theoretical question.What would happen if my EGR pipes were leaking badly? As i have found that both pipes have lost a bolt and the others have come loose under the plenum. The car ticks over but wont drive over 2000rpm however it will rev when not under load. Could this be the cause of my problem? Thanks Steve.

Hi Peeps im still in Canada and ive been thinking while ive been here about sorting out my heads. Does anybody know of a good company who could port and polish and multi lap my valves? Im doing a rebuild when i get back so im just gauging the total cost. So if any one could give me some idea of cost and a reputable company preferbly oop north it would be appreciated. Thanks Steve. OR IF ANYONE HAS SOME READY DONE DROP US A LINE.

When i start my car it ticks over great,i can sit there revving it till im blue in the face (once warm of course) the trouble starts when i try to pull off it just wont :shock: It just fooks and farts like theres no fuel getting to it. Can anyone tell me what causes the above? I set it to 15 btdc and you can watch it with a gun and it will suddenly jump to above TDC and then return. Anyone had this happen to them? Steve.

Remember me posting this? Valves not seating AARRGGHH Well after a good dose of Wynnes and Redex and a bit of smoke shes running on all six again.With only the occasional missfire. And getting less all the time. When i removed the plenum i noticed someblack marks on a couple of the valves which didnt look like carbon.So as a last reort i tried using the above.And bloody hell its working.

I totaly agree with you there flat steering wheel,arcing pedals.Reminded me of a VW Beetle which realy is what they are.

It may have been turned backwards when changing the flywheel and slipped a tooth.

Yeh complete engine good tubs,alternator the lot. I was thinking of putting my GT28Rs,555s,flywheel and U/D pulley straight on and dropping it in. The problem is i go to Canada at the end of the month (back to work)So i wnt to get it sorted before i go.And when i come back ill have a few$$$ toplay with so could do a bullit proof rebuild and change again ;)

I know where theres a lump thats had a load of head work done after a head gasket went and he rebuilt it (with loads of pis of rebuild)And i think the guy ran out of money or patiance so hes selling it for £600. So i think this is my best option while i rebuild mine.

Im begining to think the belt might have slipped a tooth whe i was fitting the lightened flywheel. Yes i did it myself allthough no internals were touched.Just new tubs,downpipes,injectors,lightened flywheel and manual conversion.
