  1. Sniffing the radiator water you say, not one of my past times i must say, nevertheless corrosion mate, hence the metal smell as you put it

  4. doesnt seem that way to be honest, performance still good, i wouldnt say she was running rough, although she doesnt like the cold very much

Hello All, Going to change the tension rods on my zed to an adj set, how do i go about fitting these, can i just unbolt the old ones and whack the new ones in, i know i will need an alignment afterwards, but will the suspension collapse or something when i take the old ones out, or can i just put it on stand and change them ike for like. If someone can let me know how difficult it is that would be great, Cheers Dutchy

  14. hello all, just a question, my zed is pretty much standard, well engine wise. its a tt. whats the best way to get some extra power, without having to spend thousands, say about 2k or so??????
  15. i havent yet to be honest but i'm just planning for worse case scenario, ive been lazy could of done it today. infact i think i might go and have a look in a minute
  16. start simple, get to the root of your spark probs first, then have a look at the injection timing, fault finding is a bit of a pig, but sometimes it can be something simple and job done, if your getting a load of black smoke out the back, then i reckon your getting crap combustion, injectors, fuel timing, air etc..... not sure about the vvt on these cars, i pressume its electronic and cannot be altered manually, i dunno to be honest, i havent had a zed long and am still learning my self, but i am a marine engineer and black smoke nearly always means fuel problems.
  17. oh and just to confirm what everyone else has said, DO NOT hit the pulley with a hammer it will break, then your in the sh*t
  18. not sure how you do it on these cars, ive never read up on it yet, but on other cars you can use a strobe light

Hello all, Ive got this problem with.... well i just dont know, when i press and depress the brake pedal qiute hard i,m getting a clonking sound and a jolt in the steering wheel, you can really feel it trust me. even when stationary at the lights when i let the brake pedal off it does it ???? every thing looks tight to me. but ive only had it on a jack to see if there was any play, if there is its not very evident.I thought it would be a ball joint but it doesnt look that way, but i havent had a real good look yet, If any one has any ideas at all whats causing the problem can you let me know. Cheers. P.S. engine is very "tappety" as well especially idling and on start up. I suspect valve clearances, as oil is good
