fixing a smashed front end
Rich, missunderstood what you were doing, that's a lot of work your taking on there, you might be better off preparing all the panels and getting them in position and getting a mobile welding firm to do the welding. Paul

fixing a smashed front end
That way all you need to do is apply a small skim of filler before painting to the top of the new panel without it falling through the hole. Paul

fixing a smashed front end
Hi Rich, theirs not much you can't hire these days, you will need to make sure you get an assortment of attachments so you can get to all the places that need welding. The old spot welds can be drilled with a spot welding drill, this just takes the top part of the weld away and the panels can be split with a thin bolster and yes the metal will have to be free from paint and rust. Manifolds on ebay
Hi Alan, was a coded welder in my younger days so was aware of the welding terms used. Just seemed cheap for what they are, but with the weight of the turbos and exhaust the chance of them cracking are pretty high. Paul
