  1. Got the Zed back and all is good. I`m very happy with the work and shall be going back. Frank also had a TT he was fitting a full veil kit onto, in purple. Looked good too. For my part I have no complaints about FG but as I know this is a very subjective issue I`ll say no more apart from Merry Chrimbly to you all! Steve
  2. Don`t know about you guys but I`m being really careful out in the jungle right now, seems that some of our motoring bretherin forget what an icy road can do for traction on a car. Was driving through my old home town to see my grandparents tonight and some prattish spotty oik in a wide boy mini nearly ripped my front end off as he rear ended off a mini roundabout. Regardless of blame, a smashed Zed is a smashed Zed so please be careful of idiots out there. God knows there`s plenty of them!! Hope all goes well over the holidays folks, best wishes to you all.
  3. Its near Christmas folks and I really want to end the year on a good note. I`m getting my Zed back from FG on Saturday and as promised I`ll post a thread about how Frank has done. I`m having a new front bumper and he`s pulling and spraying a couple of trolley knocks from the wings. Let you know how it goes but at the moment, I`m full of confidence (and missing me ZED!!!)
  4. Mine`s getting a spa bath thingy...cost the frigggin earth! Still, beats me getting me head down with a straw.... Did I word that wrong......? ;)
  5. Rough.....its bad to happen at anytime but at this time of year! Employers can be such bas*ards at times. I really feel for you man and sincerely hope that `03 brings you a new job, better luck and a new Zed. best wishes
  6. I disagree with all of you on the fuel thing. My Zed does around 20mpg round town and knocking on 30 (taking it steady) on the M-way. I do not see what`s wrong with this guys....my parents XJ6 averages 19 and the engine is only 600cc larger with no turbos.... Besides, who in their right mind is going to ask about fuel economy when buying a 3 litre twin turbo car anyways......? Just enjoy it. The guys are right though about not noticing the sheer acceleration. Have had my speedo checked before now because I didn`t believe the car was accelerating that fast.....just soooo smooth! :)
  7. Yeah! Chill out man!! This is a very friendly forum! ;) Seriously though, take it all with a pinch of salt. there are some bitchy folks round as everywhere but largely, the folk here are stunners. You can get some good advice.
  8. Since april. Spent about £3k since then but only because I want it in utterly pristine form. Only really neccesary spend was £800 for the 60K service and water pump change, oh, and another 200ish at Zedworld to sort a fuelling niggle. I`m keeping the car until I can no longer buy petroleum. It is unbelievably good and I`m hanging on to it for ever.
  9. can`t be of great help then man, sorry. I know a hugely great auto sparky but he`s about 2 miles from me in Shropshire! Best suggestion I can come up with is to get in touch with Luke at Zcentre. He knows folk all over and may well be able to help ya. Hope all goes well and sorry that I can`t help you more.
  10. You see TT this is exactly my point. Inflammatory and agressive....(sigh!) I was not saying a damnation thing about Ammar, just pointing out that I would not D&D. I, me, personally......get it? All I was trying to say was I would not do X but all power to those wanting to do Y.......please do not get all uppity and things. Our right to be individuals is stated in the UN bill of basic human rights....anyone here know about it?
  11. That is peculiar Stuart, as I stammer like a cripple when speaking in person but my keyboard don`t have a stammer function;) Certainly agree with the sentiment though mate....hope like hell that 2003 can bring a larger degree of consolidation on the forum, seems that things have been getting al little out of hand lately (OMG shutup you stupid man!) Have a great Chrimbly and a god new year guys....and to any Zed owner passing near Newport Shrops in need of a cuppa, the door is always open! Steve
  12. there does seem to be a tremendously large number of angry people here that are incredibly brave behind a keyboard. I`d certainly like to meet a few of you and offer you a warm cuppa because I`m sure that you aint what you seem to be on the forum. Bandwagons and all that. God knows its easy enough but individual experiences are just that. Sweeping generalisations do not suit a world of individuals. Hope all goes well with repairs and things Ammar. You are a little too agressive with your tone though and drinking anything alcoholic when you know that driving afterwards is something that I would not do. Use the force Luke ! Best wishes guys!
  13. Alls good Mac. really wish I could meet some of you guys rather than the whole thing being so damn impersonal. And once more let me aplogise for being so opinionated. Your own views and experiences are just that, as should be mine. Its just that I have been on the rough end of things before now while trying to do the right thing and although I have no frame of reference to comment on individual circumstances, I feel a certain empathy. Hope alls good with y'all, don`t crucify me too badly huh?
  14. Just HAD to add a few words on the whole Zedworld subject I am perhaps the single most cynical SOB you have ever had the utter displeasure to encounter. My standards are massively high and I am hugely difficult to please. However, in the opinion of both me and the wife (she would shoot me if I didn`t mention her) Zedworld gives nothing but the best on all occaisions. If they can`t deliver, they will tell you so. Jeff may be an amateur by some accounts but let me tangentialise for a moment....... Four years ago, a mother and her son decided to change the face of care in the home within their local area. They had feeling but little business knowledge to back it up. Now, their company is the largest homecare provision service within their area, their turnover rating at £1,200,000 and still growing. Why? Because of the professionalism that true personal dedication brings. I am that son and my company is growing at a frenetic rate. The point????? It is as simple as this....I do not promise what I can not deliver. I would happily pay a £400 tow charge fron the isle of Arran back to Tamworth as long as Jeff was looking after my Zed (the old thunder). The reason is as plain as day and the reason that I can afford to own a Zed.....because he cares. I am so sorry to be so opinionated folks and PLEASE do not get the wrong idea about me or what I am (ineffectively) trying to say. Jeff, as Luke before him has now ended involvement with the forum and I think this is a huge shame. With less and less Zeds round the place (in realistic driver terms) I truly believe we should be looking to examine rather than deplor. Let us all PLEASE (again) be proactive rather than reactive. For what its worth by the way, I have a masters degree in theoretical chemistry.......I know exactly how and why things work but have utter, UTTER faith in both Luke and Jeff to tell me how my Zed works. Please allow me to apologise for making this such a damn thesis but I do feel really let down right now. I any of you wanna attack me for this do feel free to mail me personally: either Jenbstevieb@btopeneorld.com or at my offices on enquiries@Peaceofmindhomecare.co.uk I would really LOVE to have even a small part of my faith restored Thanks very much for reading this (extensive) drivel regards Steve
  15. I have a problem with the boost gauge on my imported tt auto Car is still limited and some joker stuck a 120mph sticker over the original 180kph dial. Looks as if they did something to the boost gauge at the same time. When the ignition is primed and showing the warning lights, the gauge jumps to exactly halfway between 0 and +7. When the engine is runninf the gauge reads just over the marker halfway between -7 and 0. When I`m driving the car, just maintaining the speed at a constant 65-70 using cruise puts the gauge at 0. I think this must be wrong but have no frame of reference. How hard to you accelerate before your gauge reads 0? I`ve used kisckdown once or twice but the gauge is way over +7 before I get anywhere near kickdown. Can any of you give me an idea of accelerator travel to boost ratio (if there is one)..exactly how screwed up does my boost gauge sound to ya?
  16. certainly more peaceful than the frenetic stool slinging of the last night or two.....I quite like it.

Can`t we lighten up guys? I bought the Zed cause it was the most drop dead gorgeous fastest car I had ever seen and even better came replete with a great community to back it up! You are all great guys and gals but I reckon we do need to forget this damnation thread ever existed! We all know the Zed TT rules, regardless of manual or auto...nuff said!!
  18. I must make a personal statement regarding this forum and the people I have dealt with since joining/owning my Zed. It is sad when we see a "statement2 by Jeff of Zedworld defending the work he is doing. It does seem that too many people are willing to jump on the bandwagon of even the slightest negative inflection upon any other individual. This may be justified in certain cases but when aimed at folk as up front and honest as Jeff and Luke, is quite disgusting to me personally. I have found the Zed community to be among the finest folk I have ever happened uppon and it does seem a shame that we disagree amongst ourselves. Not wishing to play the whole Lennon card here but perhaps we should take each individual case on its own merits and judge from there. Regardless of all issues, we ae all owners of one of the most amazing cars on the planet......can`t we all just all get along adn satisfy ourselves with taking the p*ss out of all the other heathen unwashed?
  19. Perhaps the festive stress is getting the better of us all But for my part, my wife loves me, the business is doing great and I love my Zed! So here`s my smile too :D

Nah, no apologies (on may account anyways) Just get a little too sensitive when I realise exactly how much I didn`t know when getting the Zed. Damn good job I had a decent tecchie with me or else I`d have probalby ended up with an NA and not known the difference.... Don`t laugh, I`m serious here!
  21. Ah...I get it....snobs are we? Allow me to apologise for uttering such a vile blashphemance Just used the word to give a frame of reference... so I guess that Mondeo, Astra or Clio are expletives too? Someone wanna send me a dictionary of car models we ARE allowed to use the names of?
  22. And besides, the point is that you can! Maybe I`m in a 2nd childhood here but the look of utter horror on the faces of various gimps when this old H reg utterly and profoundly trounces their shiny new "sports" car just keeps me a grinning...every time.....:D
  23. Hope not fella, One thing for sure though, the Zed don`t feel as quick as my old 200sx. Still gotta grin when I look at the speedo and see it shooting up at some exponential rate. Nearly bought an NA but the extra £150 on the insurance was WELL worth it!
  24. Sorry man, C++ is as far as I go. Must be my lack of IT skills next to other Zeddies. Anyone else here apart from me a involved with cmemistry? Or am I the only mad lab coat wearer among us?
