  4. I got a text from Fat tony the other day wishing me happy new year. I met up with him briefly just after he sold his Z. Not sure what he's up to at the moment. if I knew his real name I could find out ;)
  5. usually tsp, or temp sensor related. But it could be a number of things. I've had this before I'm sure of it. I replaced the following: MAS, PTU, O2 sensors, Temp sensor and harness. I should really have done one at a time but I decided to go the whole hog. Clean all the connectors to TPS, MAS, PTU, Coil packs, CAS etc and hopefully this will sort it. Also do an ECU diag to see what errors are thown up.

  7. IIRC you have no cats so get rid of EGR's and AIV's may also be worth replaing the 4mm water pipes under the plenum if they are brittle.

Best way to find out what one to test id earth via the battery and then check for Volts each of the wires. the one you want should be between .3 and .6 volts. loosen the two 6mm bolts and turn the tps, if the voltage moves then thats the wire you want. 0.4 volts is your target, but if the engine revs too low, go to 0.42v ;)

    There's a gun metal grey one at SE at the moment. I'ts got a beige piped interior, best one I've seen in a Z. I even prefer it to Tony Lacks :eek: . Give Bob or Peter a shout and see if the cars still there, maybe worth seeing something in the flesh to get a better idea.

  16. I think this has gone on long enough. Let me tell you all something. Myself, PaulC and Mike Groves were on MSN one night and were taking the piss out of something, I really can't remember what. We decided that as a piss take we'd put member of B.o.B. at the bottom of our sig's. Then see how many people we could get to do that same. We were making up all sorts of meanings for B.O.B. From Boycott on Bitchiness to Brotherhood of the Board. Anyway, when all the laughter died down because we had recruited so many members, we decided that it would mean.. by using the knowledge on this and other 300zx forum's and by helping each other out we would tune our own 300zx's. This isn't membership thing, it was all just a bit of a laugh, sorry to anyone who gets offended by this. If people want to put something in their signature that says Member of B.O.B. or Tuned by B.O.B. then fair enough but there is no secret organisation or a cliqui' group of such. Just thought I'd clear that up ;)
  17. Looks like the wings west mid level spoiler. which happens to be my fav :).
  18. On stock turbo's at idle you should be looking at aboout -18 to -20 of vaccum. the closer to 0 the more of a boost leak you have and less boost you will get in general. As for the TPS, setting this by idle speed is a bit of a :nono: , you will need to either use a conZult or multimeter to set it to about .40V - 0.42V

  24. You need to take a little more off than your plenum Fas, Both the heads will need to come off as well to get to the block. Just out of interest, why are you having your plenum removed ?. 555cc's ? Polished plenum ? Head work ? water pipes ?
