  1. Thats pretty good! theres hope for zeds yet! to have not even lost 20bhp in 15 years!
  2. the us version did not have 300 at the wheel, Manuals had 300 at the fly, and autos 280. My bad
  3. Apart fromUK manuals are actually 280 and UK autos are 268bhp, jap autos are 280 and jap manuals are 300 All at the fly. Dont know about US models, at the very most 280 on the auto and manual
  4. rangerovers are just generally a bit of a technical nightmare. Not as bad as a zed, but it will be full of electrical niggles and things which work some of the time and not the rest.... We had a 96 v8 discovery, engine and gearbox were great it was just everything else that worked when you put your finger in your ear and the wind was blowing from the east! have a read on parkers, that will give you a good idea of what to look for :) http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/reviews/Review.aspx?model=416
  5. just getting the obvious out of the way :) If im right in my understanding of an auto gear box, it shouldnt really matter what gear its in when its stops because there is no mechanical link it should just slip, as long as its not stuck in lockup! I say that because on the old BMW 750i, they had a limp home mode in which the gearbox would only use 3rd gear, so therefore it started and stopped in that gear... Check the gearbox oil level/condition perhaps?
  6. To be honest i really cant quite remember! Im just sure i remember reading somewhere that between 0 and 20 mph in turns opposite to the front wheels and above 80mph turns the same way "to aid high speed lane changing" i distinctly remember that line..... I have a feeling its in my UK spec manual.... but perhaps not. I'll have a look tomorrow!
  7. Si, Hicas is inactive between 20mph and 80mph i believe...
  8. can never ask too many questions... Are you saying the hicas light is on all the time? Or at random? Sounds a bit like the system has been disabled but not locked off??! Check your tyre wear! Other than that its perhaps somthing to do with the variable power steering on them but i wouldnt really know without seeing it do it!
  9. the staying in powermode is probably a slightly heavy foot. As to stalling after stopping... if your someone who screams up to lights and then anchors on then they do stall from time to time. Mine has once or twice, after doing an emergency stop. Does it tick over okay? Lumpy? or smooth? What sort of rpm when nice and warm?
  10. well... firstly what is your budget? From memory you can get a manual TT for the same money as a good 300zx... but im not sure how good the cheaper manual TT supras would be... are they as unreliable as Z's? But cheap Z's are a very big risk! £2k twin turbos's are not always the best way to go. But having said that happy searching and i hope you find a nice one... just DONT crash it ;)
  11. did you not see the post i put up before with the link to the place that had lpg converted a twin turbo masser and a supercharged XKR?? Up on the first page i think, that looks quite interesting!
  12. colour depending it would get the "diesel smear" that black smudge up the bumper... lovly ;)
  13. people would be looking at thinking "oh good god that sounds unwell!"
  14. you mean the 3.0 twin turbo ;) But yes that would be interesting to see... but even more interesting would the 4.4l v8 twin turbo diesel they do in europe! 330BHP and 750NM of torque. Averages a combined of 29mpg (38 on the motorway!) in the 745d If you want economy why not just stick a smaller petrol engine in. The main issues with a diesel is the smell and noise. To see this beautiful sleek GT car turn up, clattering like an old primera would NOT be a good advert for any business! LGP is a fine idea, until the tax on it goes through the roof... But it would appear there is at least one company offering a limited amount of forced induction converisons.. Clicky

its not lack of boost though... its lack of fuel being burnt to produce any power... Thats what it feels like to me... in mine it feels like youve just let of the throttle, it all goes quiet no exhaust note. But when you depress the accelerator some more suddently the sensor registers and recalclates the correct fueling and its of again, running on the correct fuel mixture and producing power, ergo exhaust ergo spinning the turbos and creating forced induction and we have boost... Thats how i understand it anyway!

mine does the same... it will just get worse. Mine is now at the point where its frustrating to drive, and in some ways a bit dangerous.. was in traffic the other day and it just pretty much refused to move so you jam your foot down a bit more suddenly right hand o2 sensor wakes up and BAM your of at the speed of light! So i need to get it done, but the wether is crap, im a bit skint and i need to find a sensor.. lol
  17. =£££££
  18. if you have decatted it and its started smoking then almost certainly. Lack of back pressure stressed the tired old seals... or so im told! Get them back in, not fixing the problem as such, but its at least prolonging the life of the seals, (and therfore turbos before they require a refurb :))
  19. problem with owning a complicated and rare car... Few garages will do anything with them, and most are small and volitile it seems :( Shame! you would have thought that Z's were big business, what with them always breaking down and all lol
  20. Legrath, you officially know far to much!
  21. you do completly stop before moving it from Drive or reverse into park dont you? Iv had mine roll just a few inches on me once and hell fire it didnt want to come out of park lol

  23. ohh fair enough! lol I forget that mine has UK clocks :)
  24. +7? Sounds like its on safety boost... Stock boost is 9.8 psi so it should at very least get past the 7 psi mark... even on the stock boost guage. As for power dropping... not sure why that is! Could be any number of reasons. Try and see if there are any error codes in the ECU
