is it a "proper" modem, as in in a PCI slot, or in an "AMR"? They are very very small, only actually riser cards from the mainboard. On a socket 370 board could also quite easily be ISA but i would be suprised ;) If its a proper modem its probably an intel 536, standard driver from intel should make it work... If its an AMR riser modem, then the chances are the drivers will be on the motherboard manfucaturors site (e.g MSI, gigabyte abit asus etc etc) If its an ISA, try out your throwing arm and launch it!

99spec Z32 pics
The final 184 ;) lol Didnt realise they were different, im going to have to start the research and costing. I need to tidy up mine a bit, got a few blemishes on it so i think its the way to go. Front bumper all scabby and nasty anyway! I dont like the alloys on it at the moment and i've never been massivly fond of the series 1 spoiler, looks a bit, well crap to be honest lol... So defo 99 spec, return to 4 tail pipes etc etc... by the time ive fnished that the engine will most likly have blown up or caused some expensive damage to its self so then it will be "more power" o'clock!

i'm making mine 99 spec, been tihnking about it for a while but YES its going for the awesome look! :D Truth be told, i would even say it looks amazing on the standard rims.... Might go for that totally standard OEM look on the outside, just where to start!

Dump Valve On An Auto
mines an auto and is has a pair of SQV's, sounds good when you lift of throttle at high revs, but with fairly seamless power through the gearchange they are not used... Looks nice as well!

gearbox question
mine can be a bit funny at times, have you taken it out for a good drive, i dont mean until its warm. like a good 20+ mile drive, because i find that for a while (sometimes) mine just doesnt wanna change without a slight decrease in throttle. It could be that your not used to the box.... because mine has got better since iv had it, now i cant decide if thats due to me getting more and more used to the box... or the car having some proper use instead of being effectivly laid up for eternity and its getting better through use (or my new brakes, or new air filter. God knows, all i know is that its better than it was a motnh ago!)

New car.....
the Turbo failure could be on the pre common rail engines, They used some very very strange witchcraft to pre pressurise fuel, produced 136bhp so watch for those. They were only used while mercedes has exclusive rights to common rail 1999 and 2001 I think... have to check up on that though. That was the original M47 According to Wiki the M47TU was used from week 33 of 2001, but thats not set in stone you would have to check the build plate! The M47TU2 which is the latest development, used in the new 1 series and 3 series ( E87 and E90) has issues in high altitude markets apparantly. So it could be that you have heard!

M spec or Alpina...
neither are the later M cars, if you know the secret ;)

Big Brakes and ABS
i wonder if they have got mixed up with the EBFD or whatever it is system, that electronic brake force thing. That might get upset due to the cars ability to stop quicker BUT i would highly doubt it since pads and disks change in their ability to brake over time and usage, so the system has to automatically caibrate is self. ABS works in real time, it checks the sensors if there is a problem then it trys to solve it. The ABS then checks again to see if the issue is resolved, if the issue is sorted then it removes its counter measures. If the system were to fail when larger disks were used (or indeed better pads, lets face it an old set of OEM pads vs a new set of mintex or ebc or whatever is going to massivly affect braking performance) then it wouldnt be dynamic. So if it were not dynamic it would sense a problem, react to it and then not check again, so in affect you would loose braking one the affected wheels, hardly a safe system! So whoever says it is affected by greater stopping performance doesnt know what they are talking about!

I love my Zed, time to bragg
lol no it was like that already. I think it was from when the previous owner fitted the alloys, in an attempt to not require spacers. He must have ground it of, realised it wasnt enough and got spacers anyway. Either that or its had a new caliper of somthing thats been ground of for some reason. Just smithys big brake kit New Mintex 1144 pads 324mm DBA Wiperslot Skyline GTR Disks Suitable bracket kit!

I love my Zed, time to bragg
Well its obvious, you have to love them to own them. BUT Every day i drive it, it gets better. My autobox is improving every change, smoother and more responsive. Went out over the weekend and gave it some rice, so you would have thought that the fuel consumption but it would be abysmal... however this tank has been the most economical ever The vibration my car had at speed has also just pretty much disappeared! So whats changed?? Fitted an Apexi air filter over the weekend, amazingly seems to have massively improved fuel consumption?! Also fitted smithys big brake kit to it, (so it stops much better as well!) So i've come to the conclusion that the K&N on it was shite, and it must have had a binding brake somewhere.... to induce the vibration which felt just like propshaft bearings.... glad i didnt buy a new propshaft!! Before After Melling with an angle grinder and MY CAR! Arghh Also some pictures of my new Apexi Air intake (i just about managed that my self!)
