  2. Xbox 360, get it flashed (xtreme) and buy the games for 5 for £20 like me and I have everygame there is :D or D/L them and burn yourself. Pc for the better graphics if you have a top end machine but i prefer playing online games using the Pc and have never played the 360online allthough played the old xbox online a little too much. Forza is way too hard for a novice like me though :( cars slipping and sliding all over the place and thats on the novice setting, trying to save up and buy my zed though :hyper:
  3. Hi mate :) Your in the right place mate, ask questions, use search, ignore the dark side (the ones who lurk and whisper) http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=70720 Its well worth the money and the advice youll get. Mark!!! :headvswal :headvswal Why now and not when i was looking :(
  4. Congrats nick :) That interior pic spent a long time on my desktop as what i was aiming for, dont listen to anyone else either fella do what you want with it as your current one never did you many favours so go all out and live the dream.
  5. WOW!!! Thats a beast, the engine looks very nice in there and looks like theres plenty of room to play with under there. If you dont mind me asking, what does that car stand you at? Not its value just exactly what it cost you to do it. How long did it take also?
  6. Fastredz, I didnt do that write up mate... thanks go to Vijay for it :) I was just sent it and copied and pasted. I have no idea how to still set mine up from all the above so cant help with an auto mate, sorry. Vini, youve got my number i think mate. Ill send it again, be good to see you fella.
  7. Then it will be great  My missis loves mine and thats why the ZEDS for sale and not the golf :( ATB
  8. Your welcome :) Nice to try and give something back. Final thing is that they are untunable without spending huge amounts as only 70yr olds bought them  so make sure you get the 170bhp not the 150bhp earlier model. AMD in bicester are the best tuning company around for mucking around with the V5s but it really costs. Heres the forum, and good luck. http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/default.aspx
  9. My only advice is to test drive a TDi and make sure its the 150bhp one and you will see the difference in mpg just on the test drive alone  You only buy the V5 for the noise and 5th gear torque, sit at 70 on the motorway and plant your foot and it pulls like a horse all day long. Very comfy but then thats any mk4 TBH. If you do go for a V5 make sure you get all the toys, climate, cruise and if you can get the cream leather as iirc its heated :) If you need anything else give us a shout. Also advise reading the mk4 forums and read up on comman faults and make sure they have been done. Theres no cambelt as its a chain so thats a good point. Wayne
  10. See my rides. Dont do it TBH, buy the tdi which has more punch to it and can do 50-60mpg all day long! but the V5 sounds amazing on full tilt :D The difference is that a V5 is a 2.3na and the GTi is a 1.8 with a turbo. My fan just stopped working and my climate control is playing up so got a bill of nearly 2k, not cheap when something big goes wrong.
  11. Well two  I was in a car park and met the lovely eileen and her husband prof, had a good chat with them both for about an hour. Two of the nicest people ive met, they were heading off to santa pod with both their cars loaded with duvets and beers :D Very nice to meet you both if you happen to see this on here and look forward to that meet :) 2nd Was a black zed with clear rear lights following a supra, it was on the A421 between the M1 and bedford which is where you were heading. Didnt get the chance to beep as by the time i saw you we were side by side. very nice clean looking zed. Also about 25 supras i kid you not!!! thats in about 1hr?!
  12. Ooops, sorry i didnt go back to the thread fella :( Ill have to pop round sometime and have a peek as it looks very nice in that photo that you dont think shows it in its best light so can only look better in the flesh :D Be good to throw ideas around too mate :)
  13. Cheers mate, might pop up there over the weekend and see if they can do it for me. Dont know if you saw my other post... what front bumper have you got on yours now?
  14. Happy birthday mate :duffer:
  15. Cheers Allan  I feel so much better now fella ;)
  16. Why... why do it  :x:  :wack: Just popped up to town with the missis and on the way home thought the steering felt a little bit off so stopped off at a garage to stick some air in them. Ive got split rims and for the life of me couldnt see my air caps, they stick out twice as far as the bolts... you know why..... some little chav **** has had them away! That on its own is a little bit of a liberty, but kids are kids and we were all young once so thought well done to them for not letting me catch them. Went to stick the air in anyway as they were running a little low so did the passenger side first but when i went to do the drivers side they rammed the pin in so far all i was doing was letting air out, realised with it at 14psi so had to leave it at that and crawl home driving like i was on a bycycle. I wouldnt mind but its a fooking fast car and what if id had my boy in there too as they let the air out enough to cause problems before i let even more out trying to top them up... Imagine me going round a roundabout and the tyre weening off. Could have caused a major accident, Im only glad i didnt take the motorway up the city as imagine running on steel at 70mph. Now i have to go to a tyre place and pay for it to get sorted just because some little shit thought they were the big man charley :xxx: If i ever catch the ****, im taking him off in the boot and going to make him dig his own grave. Then im going to start ripping his jaw off off his face and dragging him behind the car untill he has no skin left. Little bit pissed!! :wack: Hope everyone has a good weekend by the way
  17. Can someone who has an Apexi send me there exact settings please. Im using.. setting off - safety boost setting A - 9psi (standard) setting B - 12psi (angry) I need the duty and boost numbers for both of these please :D
  18. There's been quite a bit of debate about how this thing actually works. Basically, the FIRST thing to do is go to Car Settings and do the following: Cyl: 6 Speed: 2 Throttle: rising arrow from left to right Decide how much boost to run. but set the boost no higher than .8 bar (roughly 12 psi) to be safe. If there is an upgraded ECU, and stock injectors, set it to 1 to 1.05 bar (14 - 15 PSI). If there are 555 cc injectors, set it to around 1.15 - 1.2 bar (17 - 17.5 PSI). The AVC-R has three setting modes, A, B, and OFF so there are two different boost settings. Choose one of them and set the base boost level as desired. What actually controls the amount of boost is the duty cycle, not the boost setting. For 1 bar, try starting around 58%. Higher percentages = higher boost. It is a good idea to find out what the 'natural' boost is with the system off. Set the AVC-R to OFF (hit the left arrow in the selection mode). Then go to the boost monitor screen. Find a stretch of deserted road and make a wide open run in 3rd or 4th gear (4th goes to ~126 MPH). The boost monitor screen should tell what peak boost was. It should be around 0.5 - 0.65 bar (7 - 9 psi). This will show what the car will boost with no boost controller at all (Good to know). Put the AVC-R in the desired boost mode (A or B), get into 3rd or 4th gear again, and go full throttle again. If it boosts over your target amount, reduce the duty cycle and try again. If it boosts under, raise the duty cycle. Once it boosts correctly, make 2 more runs in succession (this means wide open throttle). My understanding from LRD VDR and others is this triggers the AVC-R into self learning mode which is supposedly a 'good thing'. Go back to the boost setting screen and if the duty cycle displays '***' then it is in self learning mode and you're good to go. Another warning: do NOT set the Duty Cycle higher then 75% on the stock turbo's + injectors The average on a standard Z32 for 1.05 kg/cm2 = ~ 65% Duty cycle If you need to set it higher then 75% to be able to get to the 1.05 kg/cm2, there's is something wrong with either the settings on the AVCR or you have a boostleak somewhere. 3.mm/hg is vacuum...a Z32 in good condition should be around -48mm/hg during idle As soon as the pressure in the plenum starts to be positive (boost) the display should switch to kg/cm2 Here's a small conversion table I made some time ago Green is safe, yellow is ok whith an upgraded ECU, Red is the dangerzone.. (I printed it out and have it on my dashboard..lol) PSI Kg/cm Bar 5 - 0.35 - 0.34 6 - 0.42 - 0.41 7 - 0.49 - 0.48 8 -0.56 - 0.55 9 -0.63 -0.62 10 -0.70 - 0.69 11 - 0.77 -0.76 12 - 0.84 -0.83 13 - 0.91 -0.90 14 - 0.98 -0.97 15 - 1.05 -1.03 16 - 1.13 -1.10 17 - 1.20 -1.17 18 - 1.27 -1.24 19 1.34 1.31 20 1.41 1.38
