I voted 89-94 as to me it just fits the cars lines the best. Although some people may disagree, the only other one I would consider is a R34 wing like the one on the Pentroof Z.

I've had my fair share of embarasing moments, most so bad I wont describe them here. One that stands out is from when I was still living in California. Me and my friends used to go out to the desert to ride motocross. I had a Maico 440, which had a beast of a motor but was very heavy and had terrible suspension. One day we were tearing along a trail at the top of a ridge when I managed to slide off the road onto a very steep slope, no mater how hard I tried I could not get the bike back up to the trail. I finaly decided I would just ride straight down the slope while dragging my rear brake until I reached the bottom which ended in a creek bed. As soon as I turned down hill I knew I made a mistake as the ground was so loose I could not control my speed. The hill was dotted with Yucca (cactus) and I hit one head on, went over the bars, and knocked my self silly. After getting back on my feet and picking the bike up I jumped back on and of course plowed straight into the next Yucca, over the bars again with the bike landing on top of me this time. This exercise was repeated four more times before I reached the botom of the hill. As I sat there catching my breath and trying to find my feet I took a good look around at the surrounding area for the first time. Imagine my surprise when I spotted the 10 4X4's parked on the oposite ridge, all of the drivers out of their Jeeps and absolutly wetting themselves as they had watched the entire humiliating event. One of them had a video camera, they probably still watch the tape for laughs...

Why not? Hopefully mine will be back on the road by then, if not I can always come in the Primera or ride the bike.

Thanks for the offer Greg! I already have the car up on jack stands and most of the bad bits removed so no need to move it now. I'm feeling pretty comfortable with completing the repairs on my own but if I get stuck I will call on yourself and the other generous club members who have offered help. Definitly interested in the wing, I will put up a new post in the wanted section for the OEM parts I need to replace. Thanks again to everyone for your kind words and positive thoughts! :bow:

Today's update - Stripped the right side suspension, new KYB is shot, all the suspension arms are bent in one way or the other. Good news is the subframe looks fine and there are no signs of cracks or bends in the engine bay or anywhere else on the body. Your right about the motor mount Paul, it has definitly seperated and is sitting at a funny angle, but all the hard bits look OK. Time to start shopping!

Sorry Greg, missed your post while I was writing mine. Hope it turns out to be a simple repair, but to be honest I dont think I'm that lucky. The good news is parts seem to be easy to find!

Thanks Andy and Steve, that doesn't sound too bad. Before I rent an engine hoist and tear it all apart how can I be sure that it is necessary? Or is it just a case of being safe and removing the subframe is the only way to really see whats damaged?

Andy I, Duffman, Dave, Pete, Paul, and Gaz, thanks for the offers of parts, your all stars. :bow: Looks like the first thing I need to do is confirm if the subframe is damaged. Is there a quick and dirty way to do this or do I need to pull the engine and get it on a jig? I'm pretty handy with the wrenches, but if the subframe needs replacing I'm guessing welding will be needed.

Spot on Nick, impact on the far side, motor up on the near side. It's hard to see in the pics but something is broken at or around the mount. I'm just hoping the block isn't damaged.

Now here's the bit that has me worried - Whats wrong with this picture? Engine is sitting high on the right side. Looks like the motor mount is broken - So, looking for your honest opinions and technical advice. (The first person that mentions T-Cut is a dead man!)

Well, car arrived a couple of hours ago and I've been tearing it to pieces to inspect for damage. Looks OK on the nearside - Rear just has a few scratches, except for the exhaust which is completely twisted - Far side is a different story - Spaghetti anyone? more to come.... :headvswal

Thanks for the kind words! Seemed to roll OK although the steering was very stiff so may need the steering rack. Left rear exhaust was bent back under the car although the left side looked untouched. Cant believe how quick it came around, it went from straight ahead to backwards in less than a second. All I could do was hold on and wait for the impact. Anyway I'm still walking so it could have been a lot worse.

Icy road + heavy right foot = one less Z on the road... Entering the M3 at junction 6 southbound, took it easy through the roundabout and left turn onto the slip road, got on the gas just as I straightened up and next thing I know I'm heading backwards into the verge. :headvswal Cars on the way home so I can inspect the damage in detail. Just found out the wife changed the insurance coverage from full comp to liability only two months ago as she was trying to reduce the premium! I'll put up some better pictures soon, I need some honest opinions on if it's worth repairing. After all the time I've put into getting it just the way I wanted it, my heart tells me to fix it, but my head says breaking time...

I'm not an expert but this question has come up before. The N/A rad is actually has better cooling than the TT rad so it would be a mistake to use a TT version.
