  1. Ah I see - that probably makes it a bit easier, but still a busy weekend for me then. Cheers m8 Pete
  2. Cheers Stu, yep it's a 1990 Import so the classic insurance sounds a good option! What did you mean about the no claims? Cheers m8 Pete
  3. Right I've decided when I get my Zed (v soon!), I'm gonna run a cheap car to and from work most days on 3rd party insurance, to keep Zed petrol costs and mileage down. The mileage for two reasons - less wear & tear, holding value longer, and limited mileage for insurance. Keeps the wife sweet ;) Trouble is, I'm with Adrian Flux at the moment 6 months through my policy, and they say I can't start a limited mileage policy part way through a year. WTF?! Why not? Is this a standard thing? Also, what happens to your NCB if you change insurers mid-year? Will they allow the year to follow on with the new company. I mean, this can't be a rare occurrence - people don't always change their cars when their insurance runs out. And there's no guarantees your insurer will be the most competitive quote with your new car (Certainly not Ford Mondeo -> Import Zed :D :D , and yes thats a real Mondeo, not one of those Skyline frauds ;) ) Hope you knowledgeable people can help And cheers to TonyC for using up his lunch hour today trying to find my house, and for the help and advice - will be in touch soon. Thanks Pete
  4. LOL I probably only prefer stock cos I haven't got the money to mod much!! I'm sure everyone agrees that a great thing about owning this type of car (not that I know!) is the headturning effect and comments. Modifying must increase this. Pete
  5. I'm with you on this one Paul, there are some lovely modded zeds around which I'd love to own - but the stock form drew me to the 300zx! Lovely curves, lines, those rear lights (why change them?), those front lights.... Pete
  6. Sorry to hear that m8, hope things work out. Pete
  7. Online m8 - thought it was too good to be true   Pete
  8. No I mean it says 6 on the license but DVLA system has only 3. Got a photocard one anyway... Might try to fid a job where car insurance is provided ;) Cheers Pete
  9. Cheers I'll add this one to my "list" - just tried TSB, their quote was half Tesco's!
  10. Cheers people, Another insurance query - I got 3 point on my licence a while back, which is fine. But a few months ago I got another ticket - the local station wrote the points on my licence, but I wrote a humble letter of apology and my licence was never forwarded to the DVLA. Hence 6 points physically written on my licence but only "officially" 3. What do you guys suggest I declare? Just thought as I am writing this - I could put my licence through the wash and pay for another! The reason I wrote the letter was that it was only a couple of mph over the limit (ridiculously close), and I was so dismayed at been flashed cos after the first one I'm constantly looking at my speedo! Cheers Pete
  11. For those of you with Imports - has anyone sorted their insurance out online and not had the option - ie on those pulldown menus - to "admit" to having an import? Does that mean you have to phone? Or that they dont care :D ?! Also - don't you just hate it when you spend your lunch hour filling out page after page of details, then it says "Sorry we cannot quote over the internet, please phone us on...." I hate that  , then we you do phone, they want all the same info AGAIN! Rant over, Pete
  12. Well said! Both kick other cars' asses easily. Nuff said.
  13. Should really say they haven't had the Nissan franchise for THAT long, but certainly long enough. I pity the first unsuspecting Zed owner who takes their pride and joy in for work, gets quoted an extortionate price, then the car's worked on by mechanics who've never touched one  V harsh. School league table style reports would be great :) OFDEAL maybe? Pete
  14. Damn Northants is a big place! I'm in Daventry, not lived down here long tho. Still yet to get my Midlands bearings I think! Is this a thread hijack? Ooops  Pete
  15. Keith - just noticed you're in Northants, whereabouts?
  16. Yeah bit more goodwill and being merry. Bet I'm on my own here, but I hate xmas :D, too much on the wallet and too many people to please. S'pose it does have it's merits... week off work, alcohol, food, gifts. Merry xmas all! Pete bah humbug.
  17. Hey all We've got a Nissan franchise client at work (better not say where), and I went out recently for a couple of weeks to do the audit (yeah shut up :p ). Talking to the Sales Director, I mentioned I was getting a 300zx, his response: "A what? A 350Z? I can order you one of them." He followed it up with a vague recollection of the 300zx a few years ago. "Never had one in though" Nice one mate. I was hoping to get the chance of dealer servicing I could trust, maybe a discount  Another one of our clients is a certain German seat manufacturer... Cheers Pete
  18. ...is a f*ckin Zed! Sorry, the wife's asleep so the mind turns to cars... How many people have a Z picture as their PC wallpaper? If so whose is it? Pete
  19. Congrats m8, I've been married 4 months now and the only difference is they think they now have a say in your choice of car!! Be warned! :D :D The honeymoons well worth it! You planned anywhere yet? Pete
  20. Sound good to me Tony, I've emailled you... Pete
  21. How do you measure them? Stopwatch and a keen eye, Laser beams and high tech stuff? And who's got the best time! Pete
  22. Thought it was mine at first, then realised I 'aven't bought it yet. D'oh!
  23. Not going too well this is it! LOL!
