Its not worth removing it unless your engine is out, unless theres a problem with it.

I had sticky gears a while back and it turned out to be a bad connection on the autobox ECU, tho the ECU diagnostic said the throttle posn sensor was at fault

The yellow T, when pushed down, allows you to move the shifter with the engine off. Otherwise its locked. Hold is a little more complicated, it goes something like this: Pulls away in 2nd (or 3rd) Wont go into first Upshifts v early Will only kickdown one gear Use it in the snow/rain/etc, it reduces the chances of you kicking it down to far and losing the back end, and pulls away without spinning. Power comes on automatically when you boot it, and then stays on for 5-10 secs. Obviously the button keeps it on.

Thats exactly what mine does, sits about 5mm above zero on stock gauge, occasionally wandering upwards under throttle :) Just drive easily until it drops, ie up to temp and flowing nicely.
