Quality Control
This speaks a lot about the quality of Japanese products and their quality standards. They're still laughing about this at IBM. Apparently the computer giant decided to have some parts manufactured in Japan as a trial project. In the specifications, they set out that they will accept three defective parts per 10,000 . When the delivery came in there was an accompanying letter. " We, Japanese people , had a hard time understanding North American business practices . But the three defective parts per 10,000 have been separately manufactured and have been included in the consignment. Hope this pleases you . " LMAO Nick

fast and furious but beaten by a fiesta
S02's are no longer made! Whilst Bridgestone make fantastic tyres (even got Potenzas on my everyday motor) you have gotta go for Proxes. They even look sexy!!! My tyre man, who's done for McLaren and currently does some rally team, advices that the Proxes are much better than the S03 as well. Go for the Toyos!!!! Nick

Spare Wheel
Noticed last week that the tyre on my space saver spare wheel has Jap writing all over it. Considering my motor is a UK car is this right? Or has someone swopped my UK spare for a Jap spare? Nick

Cannonball 2003
Taken off the pistonheads site CANNONBALL 2003 Later this year 'The Cannonball' will take off once again from the UK for a cross Europe jolly and this year we're very proud to be sponsoring the event. Currently scheduled for 1st - 7th October, one hundred cars will set off from a venue close to London on a seven-day and night unforgettable return adventure across Europe. To complete 'The Cannonball' each vehicle will have to cover no less than 3500 miles via motorways, Mountain passes and coastal roads, through Spain, France, Portugal, Andorra and the UK. Each day will bring it's own driving adventures and challenges. At the end of each challenge, top class hotels will be waiting where all entrants will dine together and regale tales of the day's events. Then it's a case of some shut-eye in the hotel or being swept into the best clubs in town. How it Works Only the organisers will know the route. The only information supplied to each Cannonball team prior to the event, is where they will need to be and when. The start venue will be confirmed two weeks prior to the start date and details of a hotel close to the start venue will be given at the same time. Each vehicle will then leave the start line at staggered times and will head off on an epic trans European trip - one you won't forget. 'The Cannonball' is not a road race and there are no prizes for being first. That's not to say some spirited driving won't be enjoyed however as the organisers have hired another famous motor racing circuit for their sole use during the trip. So if you love to drive and you love to party then get planning quickly. Spaces are limited and are based on first come first served. Full details including terms and Conditions can be found at http://www.thecannonball.co.uk/www.thecannonball.co.uk We hope to see plenty of PH cars on the trip! A Cannonball competition with a rather excellent prize is hopefully in the pipeline too! http://www.pistonheads.com/features/default.asp?storyId=6180

Anyone in here has custom chrome head lights?
Cos/Iain, So the general opinion is that the bacofoil job works? Reason I ask is I have taken the bumper off mine at the moment and thought I might as well do the lights at the same time. What bulbs are you using now or plan to use soon? Sorry cant access the vids as my 56k modem cant handle it and the nice people who control the IT at work wont let us download. Cheers Nick
