  1. While your taking the plenium off, worth doing a plenium bypass, adn change the knock sensor.
  2. Eversince i bought my UK TT, i love the car but the front bumper is yuk, today i made the decision to swap it with my Jap one, after lots of bolts and swearing, its now on the UK, just a few more bolts and straightening up to, then in for a respray. Glad its done. No pics of the bumper on the TT as its now too dark. The jap one will be soon broken, after ive had a few bits.
  3. Glad this thread came up, and its defo the knock sensor. the female side. Have just checked mine which has been bypassed with a 1ohm resistor. On closer checking one of the wires has broken. This might be the fault to my revving probs. But yours is the knock sensor. Stu

  9. PM UNO chris, he has just done a water bypass on his and i was there helping with the engine side, they look very similar, but he had a kit to blank them off. Stu
  10. Just jack up front and support wheels on stands, and rear wheels on blocks. i found that i only need to remove the fan shroud, slacken of the adjuster first, this is held onto a clamp. Remove it, and remember how it is arranged, makes easier when refiftting, remove the electrical plug. It is held by two 14mm nuts on the upper of the alternator, the front is easy to get to, but the rear one is awkward. once you can loosen both bolts, using a pry bar or simialr( old broom handle is good) from top of engine ease alternator downwards, then the belt can be removed, then you can access the rear nut more easily. it may be the case with belt off its easier if you push the alternator fully upwards to get to the bolt to remove. If this helps i will try and do some pics of it all this eveing. Stu
  11. THis weather is fantastic, ive been doing a full roof refurb today, bang next door to one of Norwich Unions main offices, they have a nice lawn and seating area. Then at teabreaks and lunch time, loads of lovely ladies having a break and getting all sunned up. Very very hot work on a roof in just a pair of shorts, tough job, but im sure i will cope, same again tomorrow.:tongue: FANBLOOMINTASTIC
  12. Realistically, the car owes you a fair amount of cash, in todays climate you wont get this back. If you put her in storage, it will be on your mind all the time (is she ok, has anyone tamperd with her, will it work when out of storage, ie brakes and fuel. Plus the added cost of storing for a year. Why not go to Austraila for the year, with the zed in storage and after 6 months get her over there too. Youve spent the cash already so thats gone technically speaking, enjoy the car................

  16. Had no probs doing mine, as long as you remember to remove the screw situated in the centre of the rear of the lights. make sure the black glue is soft then prize apart. Best results oven with door open (i used top oven) get as hot as possible, so you can barely touch. sections come apart no worries.
