General Maintenance
I check the oil, water and levels every other week. Give it a good wash when its dirty and polish at least once a month. Its got to the stage that there is so much polish on it, even when its mucky it just washes off. I do and oil and filter change every 3-4 months. Just general maintenance. Look after the zed and it will look after you. If i could stop spending cash on tyres it would be a bonus, as most of the rubber is stuck on the local roundabouts Mine is a UK TT Manual, tiny bit of rust on one of the rear arches, but it passed its mot first time. Starts, purrs, and pulls as it should.

Warning / Can this be repaired
True gaz, the tyre is shagged, but my pal Sean is one of the best welders i know of, he builds race car chassis for the guys at the local racetrack, plus does a bit of stainless pressure tank welding. He really knows his stuff, but the wheels are far too rare to try and locate a spare, ive got to give it a try.

front stud length
Al, get these via driftworks. 25mm hubscentric, bolt directly onto existing hubs, and are far superior to others, not cheap but def the best. Ive got them as have a few others.

Warning / Can this be repaired
Over the last couple of weeks, one of my tyres has been losing pressure, 10psi every other day, i kept pumping the tyre up, but decided to remove the wheel to investigate. Firstly the damage caused by driving a on a wheel with less than 20psi in. Put a screwdriver in tear to show the depth. This is the cause of the air loss, This is on the inside rim of the wheel, does anyone know if this can be fixed, ive got a mate who welds for a living. Just as a warning, keep a check on your tyre pressures, because this could have shredded itself, dont want to think about what would of happend at speed. Stu

Headlight adjusters - How to
Im still doing all my own mods, this in the most recent one, As we all know the headlight adjusters on the zeds are pants, having seen other threads re how to fix, this is my input The main adjusters are plastic and usually have snapped, making it hard to adjust the lights These are my driving lights adjusters, there are 2 adjusters to control up/down and left/right on each light, firstly remove the 2 screws to access the diff gears Once removed, using a flat blade screwdriver, prise the diff gear off both the light and the one in the plastic housing where the 2 screws were. Using this kit, a Tamiya r/c diff kit item number 50602, using the two larger metal gears only, replace them where the plastic ones were, i found using a 12mm socket and a hammer, gently tap onto the shafts, its a tight fit but it does go on. You have to do both in metal as the old plastic ones wont work with metal ones. Do both the rear of the light and the shaft These took me less than 15 mins to do each light, the gears are metal and work perfectly, i used a bit of silicone spray on the threads to assist using the adjusters Each pack of gears has two metal gears, i needed a total of 4 packs to complete both sets of lights. The end result. This cost me less than £20 to do for both lights, While the light were off, i resprayed the metal black that secures the glass rubber, and sealed the glass with some black silicone. A cheap and easy fix to sort your headlights out, give it a try. Huge thanks to Dan at DTA for sourcing the bits, kept me informed and updated. Cheers mate. Stu

What would be the one thing you would upgrade on a 300zx
The turning circle would be a must, trying to do a 3 point turn in a slim road is like mooring a battleship. Quickest way is to turn full lock, hit the go go pedal and swing the back round in one.

I have the zed i want now and its part or the family, it dosent owe me any money, as i got it for a bargain and do all the workon it myself. It past its MOT first time, and everything works as it should, plus its one of the last UK TT Manuals made. Well and truly staying with me.
