  1. After finally putting the engine in, can only get a spark on cylinders 3 and 4, have put new set of plugs in, tried changing coil packs around but still no joy, engine starts fine but very lumpy, fuel is getting in ( as i can smell it) have checked all electrics, which seem fine, have checked wiring loom but no obvious breaks, ecu shows as all is okay. revs to max 2500rpm, but wont go any more, checked all pipes and repaired any that i found shagged. what else can it be, SWZ were helpfull, but ive done what they say, but still nothing, what have i missed as im starting to doubt myself now and getting close to 5 litres of fuel and a box of matches. HELP Stu

  6. Cheers to You UNO, no 1 for keeping the engine for me, and for providing nice cuppa tea, during the removal of the engine, for me and the lads. Basically ive now got UNO's engine, which due to the sad loss of his two tone zed, the engine will now have a new home in my zed. We started yesterday morning at just after 9.30am, a few cups of tea later, removal of the engine was completed by taking out the subframe and raising the body up. All the parts such as exhausts and gearbox are of the car. Total time from start to finish 2 hours 40 mins. Thanks mate, will pop over when running. Sussex Stu

  14. Day this week just before the snow, A259 towards Littlehampton from Bognor, might have seen a nutcase in a brand new white Transit, trying to pour a cup of coffee and flashing at the zed. Sorry yes it was me, Didnt recognise the car but modded.
  15. Possible head gasket probs. Done the same to mine but in a far bigger way. One bit of advice i can give, if you suspect gasket failure after compression test, don try it and do it yourself, with the engine still in situ. TOTAL NIGHTMARE. U will wish u hadnt started it, easier taking the engine out and then do it, lots of bolts and pipes very awkward to get to. Give it to someone who has a good knowledge of these engines.

Agree with Scrawni, if the levels are ok, then check the pipes are the same heat all the way along, as there might be an air lock, somewhere there should be a bleed screw, or the heater matrix is possilby on the way out. (Aisles you dont want that, as it might involve the dashboard coming out) Stu

  23. First do the fronts, just behind wheels once you have one side up, if u have another jack or some blocks, put under the front end on the subframe, the solid metal bit frm wheel to wheel, when u lower the front back down, the suspension should be slightly raised (hopefully) if you try a trolley jack at the front, most zeds are a bit low on the front, its okay putting it up, when when u lower there is a chance the jack will get stuck. the rear is easier. Make sure you use the handbrake, and a decent jack
