  1. Ha ha, at last today has come. Since killing my last engine with that bloody Aston in France 15 months ago, buying a Uno's (chris) engine when he killed his. Changed the engine in the summer, had major electrical probs, Ptu, coil packs, injectors. Having completely renewed all electrical stuff, and cleaning up. got it working on all six at last, but had blockage on right bank, due to last head dying and dumping water into the cat and pipes. Hence lack of compression. Over the last few days this is whats happend. New PTU, Blitz induction kit, new cam belt, plugs, other connections. Sorted timing and mixture out, decat exhaust system and removed crappy centre boxes. New gearbox and engine oil. Got a call of the mate who did the zorsts stating that its done. Started it up, its sounded superb, really deep rumble!!!. took for a little spin, and woooooooooooohoooooo, fook its quick, at 40mph cruising- floor it- wheel spin. Scared the Shite out of me.!!!!! It sounds and works perfectly. Its back on the road at last. Just the noise of the tubs whizzing as they should, THE LOVE IS WELL AND TRULY BACK, Felling it baby feeling it.

  6. If its just the connectors its not too bad, if its the fuel rail, then plenium will have to come off.
  7. If the ptu has gone you will know about it. Check that you have spark to each coil pack, if there is a duff one, try one that is known as a working, then check all connectors to coil packs and injectors, give em a good clean with a small file, and check they are seated correctly. Post up if anyone local has a spare working ptu. Very common prob on the zeds. Have a look over the MAF connection and do the same If found ptu is messing about, which it sounds like it is. have a look at this [ http://www.courtesyparts.com/Mercha...ode=22020-00Z32 ]
  8. The centre pic are the same as mine, they fold and mine is a jap spec. The smaller connector is the same as mine too.
  9. Agreed, you will loose lots of knuckle flesh, if you smoke you will do a packet of 20 easy. If you have a pavement outside your house it most certainly will get hit the odd time with a very large hammer. (mine is fooked, looks like crazy paving) Seriously look at taking the engine out, lot less hassle, plus you can do other stuff while its out.
  10. Defo sounds like the ptu mate, try and get hold of a 2nd hand working one, or post up if someone local has a spare just to test yours. Mine had exactly same problem, got hold a spare and it worked a treat, also check the connections to the coil packs and injectors. I got a small set of files for £3. best money ive spent in ages, clean all the contacts so they have no green gunk on. Check this link for a Series 2 ptu.   12. Mine zed is running at bloody last only been 15 months with out it, need to sort a pressure problem on exhaust and get it tuned. if i can get her MOT'd it would be an ideal test run, a bit far for me, but hey ive not spent any money in ages on fuel. Will let you know

My Folks went on this cruise with Fred Olsen lines on the Black Prince, to Bergen, and Arctic Circle, did helicopter trip over the north pole and over some icebergs nearly 100mts high above the water line!!!! Saw loads of whales, and the cool lights in the sky, the northern lights Aurora borialis (i think its spelt like that) Dad wont £3k in the casino, As much food as you can handle, and the cabins were superb, bit pricey, but worth it if you have the chance
  14. Agree !!!! Christ i wish it was 85lbs, when i changed my engine and laid under the car when the torque convertor was in it, it defo didnt weight that much. ITS FOOKING HEAVY. i would guess nearly 85-100kgs, the TC weighs nearly as much as my heaviest carp, and that was 46lb.............lol
  15. Have checked and cleaned connections to MAF, which looked clean no green stuff on. If i remove the connector with the engine on tick over, it stalls, replace it and it ticks over fine, it is securley in place. but still in safety mode when under load. is there a way of checking that the maf is shagged or not, or just give up and buy another one, has anyone any ideas on the pressure from the drivers side exhaust, it is so close to being perfect i cant give up now.

  17. Since putting new engine in, and new ptu, TT now ticks over perfect, adjusted idle and all is good. But. When stationary under no load , engine revs lovley, but turbos dont go (i think) as boost gauge stays at 0. Have cleaned every connector in engine bay and all are working, when driving it wont go over 3000rpm so i guess safe mode. Have replaced temp sensor and it works 100% When i killed the last engine the drivers side of engine was were the leak was and i guess water got into exhaust pipe. Ive established that the cat was blocked so its now gone, the passengers side is great and when reving it has lots of pressure. Problems are: 1. Have done ecu check shows 55, so all good, and reset it overnight but still wont go above 3000rpm. what can it be? 2. There is virtually no pressure from drivers side exhaust even with cat gone, is it possible that the water travelled down the pipe and whilst car sat still for 15 months, has rusted it up ( ie was removed on car trailer) so if there was water in it, it would have defo gone to rear box too. Help ta Stu

  19. Heres something that my mate put in his lakes in the south of France, Its called a Silver carp, Mixture of a Grass carp and the normal strain of Commons. Two went in the lake one at 66lb and this one at 69lb, never caught it, but watched it swim past the end of my swim, about 7 feet away, like a fooking croc.

  23. As most of you know my zed has been dead for donkeys now since playing with that bloody DB7. Chris aka CBR337, joined recently, living just a few miles from me, has had few issues with his gearbox. Yesterday he picked up his new box and a 2nd hand PTU for me, came over today (new years day) we tinkerd with my zed for a few hours, located other electrical probs i didnt know i had, Now she is running on all 6 cylinders at last, got a few air leaks to locate and an issue with one of the cats ( as might be clogged up) hopefully we will sort. But it sounds great to hear it purr. i just spent the last hour drinking stella and listening to a cd in the zed on tick over on the drive. :dance: :dance: Chris your a top bloke, hope all goes well with the new box, if you need a hand with your zed. Ive seen this car twice now, A few days back with a lady driving into the Shell petrol station Horsham Road, Littlehampton, then yesterday, zooming away from the Rustington golf centre A259 to wards L'ton. Think its on a H plate, very tidy, no rear spolier, but going like the clappers. My van wont keep up.
