Even though the connections on the PTU look as if they are clean, give them a rub with a smal file, and close the female connectors a bit more, take them out one by one, as if you all of them at once, its a mare to work out where they go. Spary with with Ambersol or other water deterent cleaner.

Just coming back from Brighton from seeing the other half in hospital, she has been poorly. Pull into petrol station and start filling up, next thing a really deep grumble is heard, look across and see a superb Black Skyline R34 pull up, as we are both fueling our jap motors, give a respectfull nod to each other. Then a completley different sound is heard. Pulls in between our two pumps, an immaculate RS200 evo in white, with full roll cage and rally lamp pod on. Done up like the dogs danglee bits with huge FORD stickers all over it. Bloke gets out and looks at the jap motors, and nods, have a quick chat about his super rare RS, before i can get to grab a pic after paying he is gone. How fooking rare!!!!! Lucky git

After having a few beers i decided to ask my son (16) and his mate a few random questions 1. What is the capital of France.? Belgium and where is France!!! 2. What is the capital of USA? one answers New York and the other says "i know this one, Mississippi!!! 3. As i role around i ask who is Prime minister? One answwered correctly, the other said the government, then said Gordon Brown was a chef. lol 4 What is a Euro? One says its American money, the other cracked up and got the right answer. 5. What is a differential on a car? One shrugs his shoulders and admits has no idea, the other says "two things that are different" What hope is there for the world lol lol lol :slap:

Cheers Nick, ive just ordered, a load of samco stuff, rad hoses and boost pipes, will be chatting to Smithy re replacing all the vacuum hoses, to the silicone red ones and get loads of stainless bolts and do it all to match up. A Nismo low temp thermostat and new water pump is on order, and im just about about to finish the last coat of the cam covers to match all the other stuff. Looking superb if i dont mind saying so myself. Looks like the next few weeks will be a busy boy. This is what it looks like at the mo.

All is well on planet stu and the land of zed (at fooking last) drives lovley and quick. but, a few minor issues i need help on. 1. After a good drive, noticed the turbo boost gauge isnt working on the dash, but the tubs are defo working, there is a small hissing, possible vacuum hose, that ive forgotten about to the rear of the plenium, would this cause the gauges not to work? as everything else is fine? 2. Another good drive, get home, and notice the top rubber pipe to the rad is the size of a tennis ball, by the hard water pipe? this surley isnt normal? is it? 3. Let it cool down, and take out for a little spin, when i parked up, heard pipe pop and water start pissing out. have a look and the upper heater matrix hose has a pin sized hole in it, left it over night. Replaced the damaged hose with new, ran the car, temp shows normal, the hose is still big and has plenty if not too much pressure in it. Does it sound like the thermostat is working or not, or is it the water pump? CAn they be checked they are working? If i put the heater on, it gets warm but not hot, but i can hear water travelling though it. I ran the car for for an hour on tick over, and a quick drive the electric fan kicks in and the heater is the same, and the hose is still big. Any ideas? Fooking zeds

Thought might do a bit of sea fishing as the beach has been rough as hell and good for some winter cod. Some pillock only went and sank his boat of the coast of Dorset. It was carrying 7000 tons of wood. It has washed up along the coast from selsey and a good majority of it is now on the beach at worthing. (See daily mail) FOOK ME, ive never seen so much wood, all sizes and lengths, there is wood as far as the eye can see on the top of the shingle, upto 30ft high. Our nice beach on the south coast at Worthing, looks like one of those Canadian log rivers gone bad. Have a look. What a fun weekend ive had, spent nearly £100 in fuel, lost the back end the odd time, exited the Shell petrol station sideways, in front of a Sussex police Traffic volvo, then got tugged. Luckily it was an old mate of mine from the job (im ex job now lol) little trip over to brighton, and a focus St, wants to play on the A27, ha ha not this time my dagenham bustbin boy. Christ it pulls like mad now. Nice grumble from the pipes. but ive got a vacuum hose leak, ive the end where it should go ( rear of plenium drivers side underneath, but i think this goes to the egr valve, but there is so many looms and other pipes in the way) Either way, i havent spent any fuel money for donkeys, but its great to be back in the zed.

Ive done my engine bits with the same stuff that i did my brakes with, as each coat gets it smoother, am actullay doing my cam covers too at the mo, looking good, will post ups covers in a few days

2 points here. 1. When i passed my test in 1988, the time was 3pm, so happy that i had passed, as soon as i got home, my dad had already spoken to insurance company and i was fully insured after putting the phone down. 3.30pm Dad throws me the keys to an orange 1.1 talbot sunbeam. Off i go on my own to collect ins docs. 3.35pm as im now king of the road, spot two young ladies walking along, so down goes the window, out goes the arm, up goes the music. Looking cool i plough straight into the arse of a brand new opel manta, at 30mph. the guy was on his way home from literally collecting it from the dealers. Only had 7 miles on the clock. after 4pm, having left my pride and joy down the road, and the guy waiting for recovery, i walk into get 2 forms form the insurance company. The policy and an accident claim form. lol 2. After having a day watching the British rallycross at Brands Hatch (rs200's and 6r4's) driving home in my ex rally car Lotus Sunbeam,( luckily with full roll cage) i decide to show my mate that i can drive like i could have won the grand prix. Going down a country lane in the dark, way to quick, arse goes out a bit far, do i slow down, do i hell, foot to the floor and lets really make it slide. Then everything went into slow motion, n/s rear wheel hits big tree stump, next thing we are rolling into a field, all the windows go in, glass, mud, and old macdonalds bags and bits, me and my mate tom, felt like we are on a full wash cycle in a Zanussi. Rolled 4/5 times i think. But i am so pleased, that the car was used for rallying and that we both had sabelt 6 point harnesses on. A few cuts and bruises, but another car dead lol

Christ i havent seen one of those in donkeys, rare as rocking horse poo. When i was a bit younger, my best mate had exactly the same car in the same colour. I think the price is cheap should go more than that. I would have one

After 18 months of being off the road, getting the new engine and fitting it myself, having loads of electrical issues, re doing most of the loom. All new belts, oil and other stuff Got it running,but it was crap, turned out blocked cat, now its been tuned, de cat systems and got rid of stupid centre boxes on the exhausts, purring and pulling like crazy now. She went for her MOT yesterday and failed on 2 things. HA HA Rear fog light bulb blown. Replaced N/s Headlight adjuster seized. A Bit of work with WD40 and Passed. :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: Filled the tank up. Getting tax first thing. Then have some fun. Huge thanks to all who have helped me with advice stuff on here over this time. I have learnt more about engine stuff and electrics on zeds, from doing the mechanics myself and now can assist others i feel. Big thanks to the two Chris's. Uno for the engine, and CBR337 for getting the PTU Roll on the summer............................

Ditto, take maf connector off, if its wet or damp, it will cause engine revs to 2500. give it a clean and dry it out. check for signs of green stuff on the blades. Have a look at temp sensor on the front hardpipes the yellow one.

Got hold of a copy of this earlier this week from somewhere if you know what i mean. i was looking forward to seeing it, as i thought the first 2 were great. This is the biggest load of bowlocks ive seen in a while. It happens, at least my zed pasted its mot today, with flying colours. Not bad for being off the road for 15 months. Done loads of fuel already this evening having a little drive. But dam its well quick, since the decats and a good tune up.
