  1. Marc does make a top class cupper..... I don't think that's going to help the car. Unless we drink loads of tea, look at the car and say ‘Ooooo that’s guna cost u mate’ but not knowing what's wrong.
  2. Just after I got the car it started to crap out when you booted it, only does it when you boot it (over 4000 revs) but not if you rev it slowly also smoking on one side when you rev it. Turbo boosts all there, the last time I took it out it was OK but since I’ve had it off the road for a bit it doing the same thing again. The ECU might just need to sort it’s self out, but in case there’s something over my head that needs doing I’d like to know if there’s someone I can trust. It needs M.O.T. and with the smoke there’s no chance of that. Must get back on the road. Paul.
  3. Best thing to do is to make a list of how much it will cost. Most cars that need work turn out to be a can of worms. I don’t know much about N/As, are the brakes the same as a turbo? Do you have an ECU for a turbo? I think you’ll fine it might be a lot of work. Having said that the car is very cheap. I got a gem of a car in amazing condition and I’ve still spent a load on it. For the amount of money your spending you should get a gem, or pay a bit less for a car that just needs minor things doing. I’ve put a lot of time into my car (because I did it all myself). You do get sick of working on it sometimes. All you think about is driving it. If the cars over 60k it must have had the major service (timing belt etc) if it has that will save a few pounds. Good look…. Paul
  4. I totally agree with Mark W, like I said before the coolant is mega important to these cars. My car ran rough when it had air in the cooling system and my mate’s car did too (that’s Marcz32). Got all the air out and give the car a good run, ECU re-learnt the mix and temp, now it’s spot on again.
  5. Does anyone know if there’s a really good mechanic in the north east that knows the 300zx inside out? Someone who can do major engine work and not damage the car. I’ve just re-spayed the car with rainbow metal flake and don’t want it damaged. I might want to upgrade some oily bits at some point. I did the major 60k service (all new belts, water pump, tensioner, thermostat and under drive pulley) myself because I didn’t trust anyone.
  6. I,ve had two Z tts and on both of them if the cooling system runs low the car will not run right. This could be the main prob. Get that sorted, make sure the system full and this might sort it.
  7. You can't listen to county music when your driving a Z. A bit of heavy rock does the job for me (rage against the machine etc).
  8. Well I'm going home to play with my Z. Catch u later bud. Paul
  9. I think the front part of my 1.2 8v punto must look better than the back, because every man & his dog needs to get past just to see it. I can't wait to get my Z back on the road so I can pee them off.
  10. Cheers bud..... Just got front bumper, bonnet and drivers door to fin, then back on the road. I've found some one who will look after the car for a M.O.T. it's not far from the unit. I'll give more details when I see you. Well back to work see you soon m8. Paul
  11. hello Marc! it's Paul Richardson I'm on at last. Hope to get my car sorted soon. Not to far off now, see you soon mate.
