Techstar,

Its the same front bumper as yours but I modded it.

The rear bump, rear light panel, tailgate skin & side skirts are 300zxstyling products. The tailgate skin is a real f**ker to fit, I had to chop it to pcs to make a good job of it. Modding the car like this is a LOT of work, I wanted to blend everything together, no lines...just smoother curves....hence my idea of the front bump.

The rear bump was modded from 2 x 4" exits to 1 x 6" cos my HKS Super Dragger has a 5 1/4" exit

I took it down the M1 to Chesterfield today, got tons of looks

I just love me zed lol.

The sugar scoop lights were from luke and were perfect

I got the lights from SVC.

I removed the '70's style leccy ariel and also the rear wiper to give more smooooth!

I must admit Im a fan of the TVR Cerbera...good ol V8's.

Banty,

I'll take a pic of the colour when the light fades...it goes a fab colour of ultra violet purply blue....I really love it. Its slightly flippy but its an off the shelf paint at £23 a litre......good eh.

Well its a job well done if you ask me...looks like i need to get some elbow grease...lol

smooth lines is what its about.....im looking at some side skirts..but yours are i think the right choise.....

and if i do remove the spoiler then a respray is a must.....a nice deep blue of some sort....

keep up the good work...

looks a bit different to the last time i saw it mate, for the better tho

I'll tell you what was a crap job.....removing the goo thet was sprayed on the lower door, side skirts etc. it takes a wire wheel to get the crap off....takes ages.

But you forget the pain when its done...I just had to get out n pose in it cos I only finished it late fri nite...I ended up putting some old bits in it cos I ve been waiting weeks for all the other stuff to arrive and it was becoming a real prob....so ended up buying 2nd hand bits to get it out the workshop.

If you need any advise when you do the mods gimme a shout m8

Hey sideways

Yeh its come on a way since then...I havent installed the series 2 PTU yet...Im waiting to do all that when the goodies arrive.

sounds good mate, how long did it take in all then, doesnt seem to have been that long?

ooooooo...im so jealous....lol

Its been in the workshop for 8 weeks, but I was faffing around modding the fibre glass for 2 weeks. I also de locked the car...only keyhole is driver side. Stripped lots off the car, took the locks apart, lights, engine stuff etc.

The filler work took a while cos I like to let it settle after fibre work.

I spent quite a while trying to make the replacement parts fit, you cant believe how far from a good fit some of the parts are, I had to be severe with the shaping to get them to fit anywhere near the original...but hey elbow grease did the job.

We'll have to meet up sometime cos I hear there are a few more z's in the boro!

...and the paint work took me a few days lol.

aye mate, zeldas just up the road from me but the drivers usually a P1555ED grumpy barstool.    :x:

Cant resist....gonna have to pop out for a pose...my partners kids have just come back...they havent seen the zed like this lol.....so I'll have to amuse them n pose around the toon abit.

i was quoted £4000 for a respray...abit out of my budget..lol....

at the moment i got £1500 to spend on the Z...so im being abit tight...might have to do most of the work myself....im not too fussed about having alot of BHP as it is a twin turban..but more into the bodywork at the moment...its always good to see other Z riders modding the cars to make them a one off.....

well I did rather fancy a lino roof as apposed to vinyl....do you think wood grain will match, lol :wack:

I used to think that a few grand to do up a car was a bit steep but.....Im not suprised its a bloody nightmare :wack:

There is so much stuff on the car its unreal....you'll find this out when you start taking it all to bits lol.

I still want to remove the AIV's and change the fueling system a bit plus tons of other blingy stuff.

But I aint in no hurry to start pulling bits off it so soon after putting it all together lol.

All I can say tech is DO NOT underestimate just how much work is involved to get this stuff right, you can do a good job if you hurry but if you want sink-free bodywork you'll have to put the time in...lots of it, resanding & profiling again and again just to get things perfect.

Would I do it again.....

Looks great. Really like the colour. Front lights aren't really my cup of tea but we're all different. If it was mine I'd be more than happy though: lovely looking motor.
