Could be that you're wheel/tyre size is affecting the speedo I think, you have to have the right tyre profile for the size of wheel to keep it accurate. As for converting to MPH, when you fit a converter to your KPH speedo, your odometer will read in miles also, and you can take it out when you are fitting the converter and adjust the mileage (so that your mileage is still correct) from KMs to whatever it is in miles, then it will clock up miles from then on. No idea about the indigo dials, but the cost of a speedo converter is £65 +vat from Zedworld in Tamworth, theirs is the only price I know.

Instrument cluster removal?
Can anyone tell me how to remove the instrument cluster unit (speedo, rev counter, boost gauge etc)? I am getting a converted unit (MPH) and want to fit it ASAP. Many thanks for any help in advance. Paul.

Induction Kit Test
Just thought I'd add this link to a really good test on induction kits. Proving that Apexi ARE indeed the best. I currently have an HKS mushroom on mine (yikes)!!!, but will soon be changing to an Apexi. http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/filters_test/2/

Who Has A Run Around
Use my tt everyday, yes, it is expensive!! But I'm a great believer that the more you use something, the more reliable it is. At least I have always found that with every car I have owned, cars really do not like not being used regularly, that is THE worst thing for them. They are built to be driven, standing idle does them no good at all. So far, that has been the case with my Z also, thank God! I am never out of it, I love it!! Of course I look after it well though.

driving bans

driving bans
I got seen speeding (so they say) by one of those portable cameras in a van by the side of the road in Bedfordshire. It was in a works van, then a week or so later, I had to take another one of the guys somewhere in the same van and he had a Sat Nav unit which he brought with us. The sat nav unit gave a speed reading of about 8-10 MPH different to the van's speedo! Just wondering if I can get away without the 3 points? The form they send you is still here waiting to be filled in and sent back to say who the driver was etc. Is there anything you can do to get away with these things? I have no points at the moment, but just wanted to try to keep my licence clean (insurance etc).

Wierd speed readings"
My speedo is still in Kmh at the moment, and I also have a Defi Sports head up display that does speed in Kmh only! I think the car has been de-limited as I can go off the clock. There are 2 things I don't understand, 1/ Why was the car not converted from Kmh to Mph, I thought this was always done when de-limiting? 2/ How come my Defi gives a completely different Kmh reading to that of my speedo, it seems well down?

wheels and tyres wot set 2 buy between 2.
I drive every car 'very' hard, but obviously not all the time. that is impossible, I have tried Goodyears, Michelins, Continentals, Falkens and more. In my opinion the Toyo Proxes is the best so far for me! I haven't found any of the problems that you say they give, it isn't just a question of tyres, it is a question of the total setup of the car. Obviously every car is set up differently, as you know, setup makes a hell of a difference to handling, not just tyres!

Toyos are a great tyre and can be had for a great price, I swear by them at the moment. It's just a matter of personal opinion and taste like everything else!

Looking for local 300zx specialists
How does anyone ever get hold of this Zen Garage in Horsham or Putney or wherever they are? I emailed them loads of times and they eventually I got hold of them once! They told me that they are doing a project and couldn't take any servicing on for the foreseable future!! I would love to be able to use them as they are quite near, but they do not seem to be very contactable. I have tried phoning them on the number they always give out on here, but it is NEVER answered! If I have left messages, they have never replied. I'm not having a go at them, I'm sure they must be very good because everone on here says they are, but how can I get my car done by them if I can never get in touch?

"Bumper damaged by dealer"
I defo felt like doing!! I suppose I will have to leave it, but may just try speaking to a solicitor and see what he says.

"Bumper damaged by dealer"
The service manager looked at it and said "if we have done that, I am sorry", but said they wouldn't repair it as it had been damaged and repaired before, and proceeded to break another tiny piece off as I looked on, when he was showing me where it was cracked already!!!

"Bumper damaged by dealer"
Yes, I dare say they will deny all knowledge of it when I take it back later! I phoned them and was told to take it back and speak to the manager! I daresay I will not have a leg to stand on.

"Bumper damaged by dealer"
Took my tt in to a long established local Nissan dealer on Sat morning for an oil change, didn't get it back until 12.30 when they were closing. I noticed later when I got home, that they had damaged my front bumper, it had been damaged repaired before I got the car, but looked quite good still. I was going to get a different bumper/bodykit etc when funds allow. Now it looks awful, there is a big chunk of the surface missing and you can see the orangy white stuff underneath (it looks bit of a mess), which I was hoping to avoid before I got new stuff. What could I do about it, won't they just say the bumper had been damaged before and was weak in that spot? I expect they caught it as they were driving it onto the ramp or something!

Radiator question
Just wanted to know if the little hose that goes from just under the radiator cap (to the expansion tank I think) needs a clip on it or not? Mine hasn't got one on at the mo, just noticed it last night, cos I has to cut a little bit of split pipe off it and push it back on.

Valvoline 5w40 SynPower oil
No don't worry!! This is not yet another question asking which oil I should use!! I would just like to ask if anyone has used Valvoline SynPower 5W40 fully synthetic oil, and if so, what they thought of it? I used Mobil 1 15w50 for my first change on this car (since I've owned it), but think it is a bit too thick. Also, I have a feeling that whatever oil was in before I changed it was a different (not as thick) viscosity.
