Right of way?
What would you advise about repairs, coz I have used insurers "approved" repairers before with other cars, and had loads of problems, they are shit!! They don't bother about quality or anything. Trouble is, if you want to use your own repairers, they then want estimates and check your car over etc. Also this way, it takes a lot longer to get the work done, coz they have to approve the repairer etc. If I need a new front wing, they will probably say I have to use some crappy pattern part coz it's cheaper, and I won't have that, I want a genuine Nissan part! What do you lot advise about this? By the way, thanks for all the help etc so far guys.

Really need answers to this question guys, coz got to phone insurance soon and report etc! Don't know whether to just leave it and hope they don't know what they are, or tell them I fitted them today or something!!

Right of way?
She didn't drive off, she just locked herself in her car and wouldn't talk or anything!! She wouldn't take my details or give me hers. In hindsight, I suppose she had phoned the police and was waiting for them to arrive.

Right of way?
Just realised I could have another problem now, I don't think I told my insurance about my Apexi boost/fuel controllers! Will they be funny about that?? I told them I had modified exhaust and air induction, I did tell them I had extra gauges etc, but not specifically about the Apexis. Wasn't really sure what I had to "declare", this is my first motor modified in any way.

Yeh you are totally right bud, I have had a few run ins with women drivers before. Twice they have driven right into me, both times weren't even looking and were half asleep, both times ended up being MY fault!!! One time I was driving along on my side of the road, and this woman on the opposite side of the road (coming in the other direction) was turning to her right across my lane to enter a library car park, she just turned straight into the front of my van even though she could/should have seen me coming from miles away! Believe it or not, I was told it was my fault, she apparently had an "eye witness", turned out to be someone she knew. Yeh, the policewoman was almost certainly a lesbian, she was your typical "anti-bloke" type!! She said I had an attitude (maybe she expected me to be really happy that this maniac woman with a REAL attitude problem had just nearly killed myself and my young child and damaged my pride and joy), and was threatening all sorts of things to arrest ME! This woman "driver" was just determined that I wouldn't get through the gap before her, and was prepared to drive me right off the road to try to make sure I didn't! What was her problem, it only meant that she was a couple of seconds behind me instead of in front, it wasn't even important!?! She was really stuck up as well, she just sat there with her nose in the air, not even so much as a "is your little girl ok". She MUST have seen my little girl as she was driving into the side of my car right where she was sat. People like that piss me off SOOOOOOOOOO much!

I see you are from Redhill, so you would probably know the road, it is the bit going into Coulsdon on the A23. Just after the road works coming from Redhill, you go under the railway bridge round the roundabout and there is a set of lights where you can either go left or straight on towards Purley/Croydon. It was just the other side of those lights, just past the pet shop opposite the ATS tyre place!

Right of way?
We're ok, had my little 11y/o daughter in front with me. The woman wouldn't give me her details, so took her number and went home, little while later the police knock at my door. The womans has told them that I bashed on her windows with my fists, which was a total LIE. The police woman was really stroppy with me, and said that she had the right of way, which I just can't agree with. Even if she did, does that give her the right to bash me right off the road? She was behind me, I thought she was letting me through, I was just about to go through the narrow part, when she suddenly accelerated hard and just tried to push her way through the gap which was big enough for only one car! She went right over the kerb where it juts out, and unfortunately scraped all along my Zed in the process and pushed me onto the bollard island so that my front wheel bashed up onto it.
-
Right of way?
Yes it was the Zed, all one side scraped and front wing not very nice now! Got to check it all again in the morning. One of my Nismo alloys is slightly damaged where she pushed me onto bollard kerb, and brand new Toyo is knackered on that wheel.
-
Right of way?
If you are pulling away from traffic lights with two lanes, and then there is a bollard on one side and the kerb is extended out on the other (like a traffic calming feature), narrowing the two lanes to one, who has the right of way?? Cos some bitch has just driven right into me, and pushed me onto the bollard! Not sure where I stand?

"Council Crooks"
Oh well I'm going back for it in the morning, hopefully it will be fine.
-
"Council Crooks"
Do they ever cause any damage to cars when lifting them, does anyone know?
-
"Council Crooks"
I thought that would probably be the case, they've always got you by the *****cks lets face it!
-
"Council Crooks"
No it isn't just you, believe me!!
-
"Council Crooks"
Yes they said they have taken pics, but I can't see them until sometime after I appeal!!
-
"Council Crooks"
I am going to appeal, but you have to pay first, then appeal. As you know, if you leave your car in the pound, you rack up extortionate daily charges for storage! They have you all ways. I will have to pay first and argue later!!
-
"Council Crooks"
No, they will do 'anything' to get more money out of us these days. As I said, I could understand it if I was blocking the thing, but that is just a pure money making thing! Still, thats what this country is like now unfortunately, bleed the motorist dry, EASY MONEY!!

"Council Crooks"
My god, I went out this morning to take my kids swimming, and could I find my car??!! Turns out it had been "towed" by the poxy council, because I was supposedly parked "in" a disabled bay outside the doctor's in my rd. The wheels were NOT in the bay, a bit of the rear end was over the line, but there was LOADS of space to park, I was not obstructing the bay at all!!! I checked to make sure that there was loads of space still. My rd is a nightmare to park in at the best of times, and this is outrageous. I went to the pound today to claim my car (they want £200), and because I didn't have any ID on me, they said I couldn't have it. I told them all my docs were in the car and they could get them, and they said "we can't go to the car and get anything", even though the car was a few yards away! Don't get me wrong, I would not be moaning if I 'had' been parked "in" the bay (although, it is never used), that would have been fine, but I was obstructing none of it!! Any sized car could easily have parked there. I thought the idea of the law was to prevent people parking in the bay and stopping disabled people from being able to park there, seems to me this is just obtaining money from people by fraudulent means. Sorry about the rant, but it really makes me mad this sort of bullshit!!! We are going on holiday on Monday as well, and that is £200 gone from our spending money! It really makes you want to :hurl:

EBC Greenstuff Pads
I've got red stuff on the front of mine at the mo and very impressed. Also, had a BAD vibration on braking from high speed, they have completely cured it (haven't a clue why, but they have) and brakes are excellent now!

REALLY Easy Oil Question!

REALLY Easy Oil Question!
If you look at the link included in a post above, it actually says that it causes more wear to your engine doing 3000 mile changes than 10000 mile changes!! They say that the oil becomes BETTER with age!! Up to about a 10000 mile interval. I find this hard to believe, but that is what they claim from their tests on synthetic oils, they say that Ford and others have tested and come to this conclusion also!

car alarm?
I have the Clifford Concept 950, it is superb, couldn't wish for anything more! It protects even with the tops off with no problems.

REALLY Easy Oil Question!
I don't know if 'Oilman' is around, but I would love to hear what he says about the theory that MORE wear is caused by changing the good quality fully synthetic oil every 3000 miles than leaving it for 10000 miles or more!! As it seems to imply in the report/tests on the link provided above! Can't really see it myself!
