  1. Not getting any interest in my ZED as a whole. Wondering if I should consider parting out. Any realistic estimates on what offers I'd get for Engine, Transmission? (w/out Tubs, Intercoolers, as I guess they would sell quicker, seperately? ) Engine: *Ran a little rich at one point which glazed the cylinder walls, so does leave a bit of blue in the rear-mirror under hard acceleration. But even with that, should still be worth a few bob considering dynos always come in at 480 - 550 bhp? Torque Developments International build.   2. Previous Owner bought for £10,000 in 2000 from SE Nissan. then £32,000 spent on it between 2001 - 2005. I bought it in 2006 for £8,600 and have put about £4K into it.
  3. writing could be on the wall. got email from the tuner... says that other than for a bit of fun, would be wasting my time/money chasing after some big number if all I'm going to do is sell. "part it out" for the biggest return, he says. Anyone Agree?? I'm only about 2 - 4 months from seeing my business fail... after 10 years trading... it's been a slow death over past year... :( so although not a pretty thought, need to look at all options. ...

  5. It was Ryan at 2BarTuning. He's a MOTEC M800 specialist. I got the same message from Matt @ Owen Developments a couple years ago. simple Fueling issue. up-rated fuel pump (mine is the original from 1990 ), Fuel pressure regulator and a Wide Band Gauge and probably new lines/filters would probably do it. I think it was around £300 - £350 for the parts and another £150 to get it mapped at a track and then dyno'd again.
  6. Thanks Mike, The £8K is encouraging. As it's set up for Track/Drag i.e. has a very high spec. full roll-cage welded in; it won't be to everyones liking for an "driver". I was worried that the only way I was going to get good money was to part it out for all it's expensive bits. this is an option I may seriously consider. I also think that if I can spend another £500 that there is a really good chance I could get it up to the magic 500 at the rear wheels mark. Which I figure, a certificate that said 'that' would certainly turn quite a few heads. - What would you recommend?? Do the work or leave as is? Only driven it something like 600 miles in 3 years and as it sits in the garage most of the time, and my business has been losing dosh 6 months on the trot... It's going to have to go in Sept so that I can hit payroll. It's sat in the garage since Surrey Rolling road... I just refurbed the OZ wheels & going to stick them back on, going to stick a new battery in, change the oil, fire it back up this weekend. ( start the process so too speak ) Any shows late August / Sept I can show it off at? Rob

As I've only put 600 miles on it in 3 years considering making space in the garage...

Very useful day Mark; my car was a mess.. was running 1.5 bar, super rich... with a massive leaning out curve at high bhp do to a dying fuel pump. 2 hours worth of tweaking later, got to the bottom of a few primary issues. The Motec guy being there was god-sent.... Until fueling issues are sorted. running 1.1 bar = 400 at wheels. with a lot of torque and no lag to speak of. very safe map, fun and twitchy... Once again they say 500 at the wheels with 1.4/1.5 bar achievable when fueling issues are sorted... but blah, blah, blah.. keep hearing it, not seeing it ;) see it when it's seen, eh. Will arrive for about 12:00 - 1:00 motec man going to be there for about 12:00... looking forward to seeing if the new top-end makes a difference... See you guys in the parking lot As it's just come out of the shed for the 1st time in 10 months.. i've got quite a bit of messing around to do. change alloys, detail job, maybe a wax etc... anyone else going to be hanging around in this sort of manner?

I'm calling tonight to confirm but looks like he'll be working on my engine from 2-3 which puts me on the rollers more like 3:30 - 4:00 Anyone still going to be around in the afternoon? anyway... count me in. count me very late.

  17. OK. I always said I'd be there. But one has to wonder. I haven't started my car since last August when I drove it back from having the top-end ( or at least one bank ) rebuilt due to a disintegrated valve. Chris(Ztech) said could be a good idea to have Owens re-tune the Motec M800 system. That's booked for mid-july. I am getting some new wheels delivered tonight - was going to slap them on - put a new battery in.. put it on a trailer ( AS SORN ) and bring it down for the RR. Figuredd Run it around the complex for 30 minutes ( within gates ) to warm her up and then put her on. One has to wonder... could there be devastating consequences???????????? really wanted to show up, but could just see myself holding my breathe as they run her through her paces... What do you guys think?

  20. yep, Cold tires, too much speed into the Grandstand turn + inexperienced driving. The car was a write-off with no insurance in sight. Can't really fix the NSX's, or at least within reason. whole car is Aluminum... which can't be worked like steel; a body panel replacing is a cost of £1500+vat for the front corners alone. Most wrecks are £12,000 - £20,000 repair bills... and then no one will rarely ever touch that car again. One of the guys on the site has a database of nearly 85% of known cars in the UK. Owners,problems, wrecks etc. dangerous information when it comes to selling, some say. Fantastic resource when it comes to buying with confidence.

  22. I've had 5 Zeds in various numbers knocking about since 2001 and would have to vote the 22 monhts+ 1 of them ( had it 5 months ) never experienced Brokness. You have to discount the disturbing wirrring sounds that was coming out of the driver side turbo 'on the strain of the impul management system getting every possible horse out of the stock engine' :( bet it's broke now... whoever picked it up. My current ride isn't 'officially' broken... but if I tried running it before another trip to Owens Developments... I have a feeling it would only be a few months before the valves 'break apart on re-entry of the atmosphere' again....
  23. Did a quick search to see what sort of numbers. I'm not clued up on this stuff and maybe this isn't a main event, let alone 'the' main event that the NSX'ers make it to be. in case you're interested at least 45 of the UK's guesstimated 400 NSX's will be there. they made press around the world last year when they were around 40 as the largest gathering of NSX's on record ( in europe, as least ) Has this club ever attempted the beauty of the "unfathamable" numbers you could put together? Considering the literal thousands that must be knocking about or have i just missed the thread ?
  24. It did sell. The guy has something like 10 RX7's of different specs also. just collects them; had this 300 for 3 years averaging 200 miles a year. ?? Just sounds weird, so I thought I'd see if I could find the guy who bought it to verify that this is just an ecclectic eccentric rather than not.
  25. Anyone on here buy this car. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/429229.htm was just speaking to the guy as I'm going to look at a RX7 he's got. He just sold this Zed and thought there is a chance the buyer is on here. any info?
