  1. Yes dougal, ive been asked already,if mine need replacing, ill make up a set or two extra,i have a feeling mine are rust free, but the lip is abit wonky after trolley jacks being used under them(wonky is a technical term lol),just in case,Im not getting on here much these days,so phone me or email if you dont hear from me to jog my memory.
  2. ok,ill make a couple of sets.yeah, price will be lower than whats already available.if nobody wants them i can sell them on the 'bay.im only offering because im making some for myself, smithy.if there is a huge demand on steel repair bits,i'll look into that malarky seriously, but at the min its just the bits im needing for my own project that ill duplicate for afew while im at it.Ill post a pic when get some made, next week prob, dont hold your breath, currently trying to finish restoring a customers mk10 jag where everything needed to be hand made..my own project takes backseat!
  3. Is anyone wanting rear sill repair panels,Im going to be making a pair in afew days(next week at this rate!),if anyone is interested let me know and ill knock out some for them too.Ive seen the guy on ebay selling his,he has the swage line in his,i wont bother as i wont be cutting that far up as things arent THAT rotten lol,so no need for it,if you really need this swage,i can can add it extra.Cant say a price, its time and lime,as Ive not made them before, will be cheap though! Just a rough head count so ill know whether to bother or not,I make an sell a small batch run of repair panels for various classics now and again.Zed rear sills are no prob.
  4. Never done a zed screen, probably done 150+ odd various other car/comercial glass since i started,i never liked the glass cutting wire you can buy, always prefered the mig, doesnt snag so much.Geetarrr string would be too thick no doubt lol
  5. Buy a long handled stanley bladeholder made for the job at your local motorfactor,to cut at the bonding,it takes a while if youre trying to save the glass, dont force it,the sides and top are easiest from inside, down at the dash last is trickier. If you have someone to give you a hand, use a length of mig welding wire to 'saw' cut it top and sides, saves time, just avoid touching the edge of the glass with it.Remember, sods law,if you try not to crack it,you will,so just dont care to much when you start cutting :1eye:
  6. 1st will suit the Z,the others are ok on a driftycar
  7. If you saw some of the classic cars Ive restored over the years, you'd think ur cars floor was mint!Get them welded Del!Cut off the rot, fabricate repair pieces and welded on.I make my own sills,i use a 6ft sheet brake and slip roller ive got to replicate the originals. If youre stuck for panels, give me shout for what you cant make/buy off the shelf.
  8. Really?the Zed enthusiast will know about this type of key then?I didnt know such a thing exsisted till i read it here.Hmm,I guess for a true enthusiast its a thing to have then.
  9. Dont see what the fuss is over key myself? Is the key you have not good enough, unless the titanium one gives the car 10bhp extra or make girls follow you like the Lynx advert...
  10. i remember one kid in school that had a chopper, the handlebars were blobbed thick with arc welds, kept snapping them jumping ramps and his dad would re-weld them lol,I remember the Grifter and Burner too, there was another well known bmx aswell,silver/chrome and bronze frame?
  11. lol, shes only saying that so you wont be using her car:P. Its the suspension bushes that will cost most in labour, after welding, but if you can get your mate to weld it for you at mates rates maybe.Good luck with it bud, heartbreaking to start all over again on another...
  12. Dont let her see it mate. I know its probably not what you wanted to hear, but as you can see from everyones responses, its best you let go.Your judgement is clouded by your feelings for her, more than likely. When you lose someone you love, theres a gap in your life where they were, but hanging on to hope shes going to return, means the gap will always be there.Theres plenty other girls out there, once you let go of your ex,you will meet someone else.I was cutup over a girl i split with,i feltsh*t for months, seeing her out with friends that we all used to hang out with etc,but I decided Id never let a woman make me feel that way again, and never have since. Then,a year or so later, when Im with my new girlfriend,I met her and she was saying what a mistake she'd made and how lucky new girlfriend was,,if only she had said that a year earlier when i gave a sh*t.But I had moved on,thats what you need to try doing.Thats my advice:)
  13. haha!very true!!but i do venture into the bright lights of Glasvegas every few weeks and still dont see girls with Zeds:tt2:
  14. Ive only seen 2 girls driving a Zed in around 5-6 years since getting my car(and one was the girl I bought it off!).It must be a blokeycar i guess?lol! I have a Gen6 CelicaGT and see women driving them(usually hot looking aswell!lol),its an unusual car in everyday traffic like the Zed,and always gets a wave or a nod from other celica drivers.Im guessing the Zed isnt 'hairdresser'enough...
  15. I understand the TT has forged bottomend parts?if correct, does the N/a have the same? Are the heads the same on both or is this where they lowered the comp on the turbo and what is the comp ratio on a TT btw?cheers
  16. Blame the schools.Life is getting easier and easier for kids.Evo4 is cheap at that price.
  17. Go for it,avoid the 1.6gti ,the 1.9 are pretty quick, loadsa fun!Getting classic status now.
  18. it would bother me that maybe the thieving scum were laughing seeing me drive about in it and me not knowing who'd stolen it.Id fix it up and get rid.
  19. i dont think its an eB*y sale issue anyway. He saw the tyres off the rim, I take it?Im guessing the garage he went to wont touch it for their own reasons, not because they tyres are un safe..,put it this way, would they fail an mot? I think id refund him all the same, just to keep the peace, good karma an all that, you can always relist them on eb*y..(although he did see the tyres before buying, but maybe he hasnt a clue about such things..)Put yourself in his shoes, think what you would do in the same situation, would you ask for a refund or shrug your shoulders and let it lie.Either way, your gut instinct is usually right when it comes to these decisions.:)
  20. Haha!Dont tempt fate!i wouldnt drive it for the rest of the day - just incase!:P
  21. Must be your actual PC then, not FB?
  22. lol, sounds like your page is playing up if none of your friends pics are showing, have you checked your settings?
