High Idle & slight misfire
Remove the adjustment screw from the AACV and spray some WD40 into the chamber, refit screw and adjust to the required setting. Make sure the engine has warmed up before final adjustment. This normally eliminates idling problems; if not the valve itself may require replacing. As for the misfire, this also could be caused by the AACV as if the valve is failing your engine mixture could be all over the place. After performing the above routine maintenance, if symptoms still persist then disconnect both O2 sensors and go for a drive to see if the problem is eradicated. The above suggestions have been found to be common causes of your symptom, if the fault is not removed them check all the more obvious things like connectors. Work through them systematical, you will probably find some nastys in there anyway. If symptoms still persist then read the label and call your doctor. Cheers Dave

Where has PetrolHeads NorthWest gone???????
We wont be coming back guys, after thinking it through this last week we have decided that this town is not big enough. With all the banter that goes on and the naughty PMs witch get forwarded on to us by our loyal customers, believe me its not a happy place for a trader. We feel that a big weight has been lifted from our shoulders, leaving us with a more positive and ambitious outlook towards our business. Don’t be alarmed though, by us not trading on this forum "being tied to tight trading policies" we can now expand at our own pace. We love this place and have spent a few years both meeting new people and most importantly helping out fellow members with tech advice. We never set out to step on anyone’s toes, as engineers and Z owners we have always put the members first even before ourselves. We took great pleasure in providing parts at silly low prices, as we don’t need to make any profit we do it for the love of the club. We totally understand the problems which we have created with the minority of other traders, for them this is their bread n butter. As before we will continue to work along side “Z-centre, DTA, Andy-Z, MJP and ZXS to provide a full range of services. The Future Is very bright indeed, we have took on new suppliers, we are official D2 resellers, and we are receiving alot of new customers through word of mouth. We are not alarmed or worried about not trading here. Our website is ever growing with new products and as from 1st July, we started importing cars from Japan. Business is as usual Customers We thank all our customers for giving us the opportunity to work with them, its been a blast. We will continue to provide an excellent service and will attend most meets just to catch up on things. Committee Although the end result was not in our favour, no worries we understand your position and most of all your decision. On the whole you have been fair with your decision making and we want to take this opportunity to say thank you for allowing us to play such an important role within the club and to make our introduction. We have re-subscribed as a std member, and have sent the funds across.

Mudflaps on import Z32
There were an optional extra the same as leather. Out of all the Zs we have owned/dismantled none had these mudflaps and were all imports. IMO these are rare

What's happen if I disconnect my AIV??
Remove them or simply plug up the holes with a rubber bung or something. Most AIVs nowdays are 10-15 years old, the one way valve inside them tends to leak after this long period. If you just leave the black rubber pipes hanging in mid air, you could potentaily loose manifold pressure. I find the best and quickest way to bypass them is to block up the smaller hoses inside the engine bay, one each side running to each AIV. This way you can get away with not plugging up the larger pipes underneth. BTW The AIVs allow flesh cooler air to pass through the cats, this is only for emmission purposes. Unless your Green, get shut.

Why don’t we start a national Asthmatic shootout day  . We could have it down @ Pod sometime this year. As N/As pose a greater challenge to obtain more HP, this will be a great contest. With no hairdryers to assist us and just good old fashioned mechanical engineering on our side. Who’s in around September Time :D

some big companies are going to fall soon
Iam third line tech support for GM UK. Iam based within the EPort Vauxhall plant on a daily basis. When one of the lads on the track has an IT/Techy problem he picks up the phone and dials a local Number, he is then greeted by a member of staff based in Malaysia "bad english" who has him on the line for several minutes. "bare in mind when we have a track stop at VM it cost 8K every minute in lost production". If his problem is not resolved, he is then passed back to the UK to are operators "2nd line support". These operators sit about 10 feet from my office, but will only pass the call if they can deal with it. If this is the case then they transfer the call to myself via an "IP Agent call monitoring software package" A popup will appear on my screen and I will begin to diagnose the problem. This process can take upto 30mins before I get my teeth into it. How can this be cost cutting???It peas me off. A couple of years ago I would simply get a call from the guy on the track saying Dave could you give us a hand as we have a problem, It takes me 1 minute to reach any part of the plant by car. Look at WingsWest, they moved to cutdown on overheads and 6 months later no more. Who said a United Europe was a good idea, The UK is not what it used to be.
