  1. These can still be obtained form Nissan. £10 each IIRC, Part number is KEY00000095 or somtehing like that.
  2. Does anyone feel brave enough to offer a mechanical opnion on a prospective Z purchase ??? The car in question is based in Yeovil. All expenses will be reimbursed...! Please mail/msg me if you are interested. Thanks, Phil.
  3. AndyP - Place local to me (Kent) does them on a 24hr turnaround. Quite reasonable too. Send me a mail if you want details. Phil.
  4. Kevin Philips Bong - Slightly Silly Candidate who split the Silly vote. Can't remember where the election was, but the Silly candidate was in a slab of concrete....
  5. http://www.tv4.se/lattjo/kojan/bilbanan.asp Worth a look, I've wasted at least two hours on it today.... ------------------
  6. Anyone attempted this ??? Comments ?
  7. I am about to throw more money down the drain and upgrade to a TT. Therefore, my NA is up for grabs at a (IMHO) ridiculous price. It is a 1991 Metallic Grey, stock NA with 75k on the clock. The 112 Mph limit has just been lifted, and the cambelt has just been replaced. Regularly service by Nelson since its import. Please do get in touch for the price and help me do the right thing....;-)
  8. AndyP - I am in Kent so Essex is not a problem at all. Could you please drop me a line ASAP and let me know what renumeration you require and if I should bring my own lubricant for it !!!
  9. Seeing as I am at the bottom of the food chain (NA owner), I was avoiding an ECU upgrade as I would not get much benefit from it and I am trying to keep the car as standard as poss. I was told that if I chnaged the ECU I would have to change the speedo too ? Also, I don't want to be rebuilding it every 100 miles...Every 200 is acceptable within the Zedworld.
  10. John - this sounds good. How does one go about it ?? Ta.
  11. What is the best way to remove this ? KPH/MPH convertor bow or shipping and new speedo ??? Or any other method ? Thanks Phil
  12. Ironically enough, that is where the one's I am talking about are from. It does seem a tad expensive, but they do say that by the time you've inserted the news bushes into the rods, you've covered the cost of new ones (due to the labour involved). I don't want to start an argument about Se, bec. I am not mechincailly inclined anough to do the job myself. Therefore, I am willing to get a pro to do the job and happy to pay for it. I was just getting some info first. Ta.
  13. Danny - Thanks for the info, but Jeff and I are not talking at the mo. I won't go into details as a lady reveals nothing... ;-)
  14. Stuart - does this mean that the whole tension rods do not need replacing, just the bushes? I got a quote of £229 plus fitting which must mean they want to replace the whole thing....
  15. Does anyone know if the above different from UK/JAP and Turbo/Non-turbo ? Mine are leaking sillicon and I am weighing up the pros and cons of replacing with new or secondhand. Cheers, as always.
  16. AndyZ - YHM.
  17. Darren- I am in Kent too. Used to take it to Ancasters, but they are no longer Nissan. Am currently schlepping to Maldon in Essex, but I have heard that the Canterbury Nissan is OK. They've had quite a few thru their doors, but I have not heard an independant reports. Anyone else ???
  18. Whether you intended to or not, you have offended me. I have already sent my £20 and was suggesting that perhaps people were lazy enough not to send a cheque but enthusiastic enough to pay via an on-line method, which would involve minimal conact with the outside world. So I must now sod off bec. I had the temerity to suggest something that might be benficial to the more lethargic amongst us. I now see the a reason why Craig would want to pull the plug on all of this. Would it not have been better to politely suggest that the cheque method was decided to be the best way, rather than telling me to sod off ? As I have said, intended or not, you've cause offence. There seems to be a rash of it around here just now. Is there any reason why I should not be as offended as I am ??? Answers on a postcard pls.

I did read in this month's EVO that Mitsubishi are trying to pull a fast one with the Jap govt. and allow then EVO VIII to have more than 276 BHP standard. If they can do this, then perhaps there is some hope. Or am I barking up the wrong tree bec. I am a tosser ??? (Thought I'd start a slanging match with meself)
  20. Craig : Stop me if you've considered this, but is it now worth setting up an on-line payment option (PayPal) to combat the lethargy associated with Snail Mail and Cheques or is apathy not the problem? I usually pass over sites that don't offer online payment. If you need a hand setting it up, drop me line. Just a thought.....
  21. Stuart - thanks for the reply, it was exactly what I had been thinking. Also, thanks for the reasoned response. I was expecting to be flamed to death..... Cheers.
  22. A few facts first: 1. I own a 300Zx NA which I am very happy with. 2. I don't wish to start any arguments, I just want to understand better. The 300ZX is a one of a kind car, but one thing niggles me about it. If it is so good, why are there so many of these "Fantastic" cars around which have had new engines only after 80k miles. I've seen quite a few for sale on the board with this ailment. If the cars have been lovingly looked after by the owners, why did they need new engines ? I have seen many comments that the Z engine is good for 150k+ miles. Is it the case that these cars have been heavily modded. Please remember, this is not a dig - I am just trying to understand !!!!
