  1. A LWB prop is too long, but any decent prop company can shorten it and fit the correct end. Easy.
  2. Well done Stella, thats exactly the sort of comment that I should have expected from you. What a waste of time.
  3. Hi, I was a paid up member, and have been a member for some years. However Stella acted like an idiot and with some other reasons I chose not to renew my membership. When I was able I placed a for sale thread, YOUR SYSTEM allows me to respond to this thread even thopugh I am no longer a paid up member. However, the thread was closed because of my status. So YOUR SYSTEM allows it and yet its against some petty rules? Do you ever wonder why people are going off this site? Well this is a good example. And you know the daft thing? I was thinking about resubscribing.
  4. Sorry bud but got to edit the post as its to do with the sale as Mike
  5. No, it is some help thanks, because thats about the conclusion I had almost come to. I need to find an N/A part now I guess.
  6. Legrath, sorry missed your post. So, even though I dont have Hicas do I need a Hicas boss? Sounds like I do?
  7. Thanks Groover, my TT has a plastic enclosed thingy which is screwed to the shroud around the columb with no provision for making contact with the boss, (the boss does have a brass/copper ring on it but the car has nothing for it to touch). Just a single connector on a wire which plugs into the original wheel. I no longer have Hicas so dont need that part on the boss. More confused now, lol
  8. OK, thanks. I dont want to attack the original setup only to find it doesnt work, if you know what I mean? Does anyone else know for sure?
  9. Hi All, trying to fit a Momo wheel, the boss has the copper looking ring around the bottom to connect (rub) to the car, but there is some plastic device on my car that will not "rub" on the Momo boss. What is the way to get the horn connections to work? Do I have to buy another part or moidify the original? Thanks
  10. Or try Redline Heavy Shock oil, can "hide" this. I have tried it in three or four cars, brilliant. Inc my Z, but only to protect it as the box was fine.
  11. Petrol. Thinners etc. No naked flames etc, but you need to break down the muck inside to ensure you get it all out. Some say never use an old cooler after a box had issues as you can never clean them properly.
  12. I have EBC grooved and dimpled, but I am certain that I would not use standard size discs. Seem OK too. I had some brackets made to moce the original calipers out to fit 325mm Skyline discs. Brakes are very much better and they look better too, but you need a big enough wheel to allow this size disc.
  13. Can have titania or zircona (sorry about the spelling) But IIRC the colour of the wires tells you which they are. And they cant be swapped either.
  14. Trying to be open minded perhaps you were, but I did not take it that way. In your place I would have tried to make sure anything I said could not have been taken the wrong way. But, I doubt your claims.
  15. You dont learn do you? Sometimes its best to keep quiet and not continue making the problem worse. You were out of line, if you had any real regrets about what you said why make these comments? (good to see you got that off ya chest mate, you feel better now)
  16. Due 100% to Stellas comments I will not be renewing my subscription. I have been a member for years, but no more. At least not as a paid up member. I think this is a sad reflection of where this club seems to be going.
  17. Someone on here said they are OK for 500 wheel horse power I think. Legrath maybe??? Not sure.
  18. Swapped the TT diff for an N/A, new one piece prop (£240). Find myself looking for another gear quite often, in gear acceleration seems better, it will light the tyres dry road second gear straight line without clutching it (275 x19") now. Top speed is less, but who needs that anyway? Cant say I notice the lack of Hicas. Uses fuel like there is a hole in the tank, lol. But it was never good at MPG. Running 555 injectors on standard tubs, decat, firdanza alloy flywheel etc. But 19 inch wheels which are poor for 1/4 mile times. Ran a 13.4 first ever run at Avonpark into a strong headwind. Worth while? Probably not. Would not do it again. Comments?
  19. A quick update on my 2fast2cool pipes. I sent him an email and he seems to be very fair. So far he wants me to measure the length and he will sort a new one. Very impressed.
  20. Very Interesting, I might try him...
  21. IF you dont mind them not fitting. One of mine was too short. An easy fix but thats not the point. Also gaskets are poor.
  22. I think there was a poll on here asking about smoking after a de cat, IIRC most owners did not get smoke after de catting.
  23. I tend to avoid drilled discs as they can often crack. Dimpled are OK I think. I run EBC 325mm dimpled and grooved with relocated calipers. Much better stopping than standard, and I arranged for the brackets to be made myself.
  24. Hey :-) Not being funny but I dont care how much they cost they are supposed to fit, and they often dont it seems. And lets be honest, making the pipe the correct length or welding the flange on in the correct postion is not rocket science. It does not cost more to make them the correct size, they are just badly made. And yet they charge for something that is supposed to fit. Only my view.
