Rather than plugging the gearbox is it not worth changing the oil in it? I changed mine first time, second time a just drained it and put it back again after inspection.

Did they come in a really high res? I have one of me that I took down the local printers and got it done on A2 photopaper for a fiver, looks wicked. Mine came from a friend with a steady hand and an slr camera tho not the pod people.

Yeah you might be getting a reading from the oil coming out the cooler not the engine etc
