OK i do think its the maf. I disconnected the batt for an hour, cleaned all the connectors on the maf and ptu, resecured a connection on a coil pack and took it out. First time i tried to accelerate i got to 6000k rpm with only one major misfire! 2nd time misfired loads and would not go above 5k. all the other attempts it went to 6k rpm smothly and quickly! yey! I was about to turn round and do it again on high boost but ran out of water due to my other problem water leak!

yeah i had considered this, i might unplug the maf and ptu and reconnect them in a bit.

I was planning on taking the z to jae tomorrow but not any more! It went in for a clutch and other bits on monday and i just got it back. Had full power before it went but clutch would slip above 5000rpm. Clutch works fine but i have no power at all! Coolant temp is normal, no smoke etc, it just wont go above 4000rpm, drives ok below that but the power is low. Its still making full boost and doesnt feel like its misfiring. Drives ok up to 3000rpm, i switched it to high boost and floored it in 3rd, it climbed to 3700 slower than usual then stopped firing on all cylinders, head about hit the windscreen. Tried to accelerate above 4000rpm slowly and progressivly and its just wont go, but not misfiring? Still getting 8psi on low and 12psi on high at 4k rpm. Also the fuel gauge went down about the same as when booting it so dont think its a fuel problem. Any ideas? Is definatly going back on monday morning but can anyone point me in the right direction?

I just spoke with the garage and they have finished my car. Clutch is in, starter motor, gearbox, dill and engine oil changed, all engine and gearbox seals. I also asked them to find my water leak. They have looked and they said its defo air con water not coolant. They said its running down the inside of the chassis and its possible the drain pipe is split or stuck somewhere. I dont getting it tho and its really annoying me. My cooling system is loosing water and gaining air! The water that comes out had blue coolant in it (they said they tasted it and was just water). The water that comes out is really cold even when the coolant temp is hot. Still loosing water tho and no white smoke! Grrrr!

Yeah i agree. I managed to get insured with hyperformance for 800 quid tpft. Im 22 with 3 years NCD and a clean licence. They didnt seem to have a clue but quoted well cheap so i went for it. I was doing the quote and they forgot to ask me to reg of the car! had to give it them at the end, also they never asked if it was an import so i think they may have it down as a uk model! It doesnt say anyway on my policy or schedule if its an import or not so what am i meant to do?!

can you not just bypass the saftey boot, do you really need a det sensor? My saftey boost is bypassed by my greddy boost controller

If the public have access to the private land then the road traffic act does apply. You cant legally drive a car in a public car park without a licence because the public have access to it. But you can drive without a licence in the same car park with the owners permission if the gate on the entrance is closed - ie no public access. Same applies to fields etc etc. At MFN for example it is a private through road and the land belongs to shipley park/the council. If the gates at the entrance and exit are open then it is Illegal to do burnouts, when the gates are closed it is not. As far as the speed bumps go Asda are liable. They put them there! If there is no warning ie a sign or yellow paint to highlight them then I rekon you would have a case. Same thing applies to icey cark parks, If you slip on ice and break your leg there is nothing you can do. But, if they gritted the car park and you slipped on the grit it would be thier fault as they put it there! Hope this helps you to understand how the law works. PS most police dont know as they dont care about these sort of cases - they are normally deemed civil. (execpt the road trffic act)

I think its about the same as a mildly modded tt mate. His v8 is Na, not supercharged etc but silly pretty powerful.

I have a water leak and got stuck in traffic the other day. My aftermarket gauge was at 95c (normally 75) before i pulled over and gave up trying to get to work. The stock gauge was still bang in the middle tho - just shows how crap they are!

I also have the laser add on which has gone off about twice when driving past vans etc. It dont half shreek at you when it picks up a laser!

I use a road angle 2 compact. 80 quid of fleebay Mainly wanted it for realtime speedo but it has served me very well. Great for driving in areas your not used to, picks up every camera with loads of warning and goes all red and flashes, tells you the speed limit through the camera and your currect speed etc. Says if its average or safety Shows the correct time from outer space as well! I always look at the big digital speed readout not the speedo as the converted speedo is well out. It can also be set to do schools, conjestion and even gives alerts in tiff nedell's voice if you dont have it muted like i do.

Didnt know all convertables were NA, hell they are mega rare anyway

On entering the show there was a bloke with a tripod and camera, took a photo of each car and they were selling mugs and keyrings with your picture on it. I bought a mug for £8 and they said would take about a week to produce and arrive. Its now been two weeks and nothing has turned up? Anyone else get one?

they are probably on some moped or bike by now! you need a 13m spanner to get my Z dust caps off! The kids are starting to get wise to this and carry spanners now tho!
