  1. yeah with the door shut! Now you see my predicerment!
  2. yeah stick the straw in and squirt. The thing is the lock itself turns fine, thats not jammed its the door mech as the bit you lock/unlock the door from inside with is jammed so i dont think it will get to it

  4. I went to unlock my car and the alarm disarmed but the doors did not unlock. I thought doh central locking has gone probably the fuse ill just unlock the door with the key. The key turns the lock both ways (never used it before) and would not unlock doh! I then tried the passenger door with the key and it opened fine. So I crawled over to unlock the drivers door but the lock would not budge from the inside either - S*&T! I then armed/disarmed the alarm with the fob a few times and the alarm works fine but no central locking at all. So it seems my drivers door lock is jammed stopping it all from working. I take it the lock should still move manually if it was just a blown fuse etc? As now i cant open the drivers door at all!

  7. The speed is taken from a roadangel so is correct at constant speed. My rev counter reads about 1100rpm at idle but that does seem right as it sounds like its idling a bit high too. I'll get exact figures later on when i drive home but im sure 95mph is 4000rpm or maybe even 4100. My car is an import, i take it they are not geared differently?
  8. Can you get a 6 speed box or conversion for the z32? I have loads of power left over in 5th gear at 50mph + and the car could easily handle another gear. Most my traveling is at 75mph + and another gear would probably save me a load in fuel each year. I'm at 3500 rpm at 80mph and it seems a little high for the v6. Any ideas?
  9. i get a loud pop now and then when changing gear at high revs only at high revs with foot down so not worried at all

  11. I would just fill it sand it and paint it. It will only rust if bare metal is showing.
  12. yeah there is about a 5" round speaker in there with a port to the right of it which is why they are a strange shape
  13. yeah looks just like mine but its screwed on from the back so you have to take the door card off to get at it unless you just rip it off like i did!
  14. Has anyone here covered there lights with film? Is window film dark enough to hide everything?
  15. nar the hole is almost big enough for 6x9s so wont take much to fit them but the door panel will have to come off. I will be fitting new seat belts soon so will do it then. 6x9s are loads better than componets imo

  17. i have got a can of that but i might use window tint film instead. I do think its a good cheap alternative to 99 spec lights as they are well expensive! It does look a bit usa but i also think it makes it look very clean and unclutered

  20. yeah the standard ones stuck! I was hoping to just screw them straight in! Oh well another job that will take a bit longer than expected! Im gonna change my seat belts soon so will do the speakers then.
  21. I just finished fitting my short shifter and wow massive difference! Probably helped by the fact that there was nothing left of the old bushes! I then decided to attack the door speakers, thinking they were just rubbish 6x9s. I have already bought a pair of pioneer 6x9s for the doors. On ripping off the covers, to my horror I found that the stock speakers are not 6x9s but 3" speakers with a port to the side! DOH. Anyone know if the cut outs in the stock door panels will fit 6x9s? Has anyone fitted them in the doors before? How much do the door panels have to be modded? It started raining at this point so i decided to call it a day after spending 2 hours fitting the shifter and fixing some other small anoyances.
  22. No it doesnt tend to free up much, but it might a bit. It takes more effort to change gear because the lever is shorter! I found this when i did my rover too, wasnt sure at first but its great when your used to it.

  24. I did one on my old rover and had to do it all from underneith. Also i had to angle grind the lining out of the old shifter to fit it to the new one! Took me about 3 hours to do the rover and was hoping the z would be easier and done from the top! The instructions I got for the zx say you have to remove 2 bolts from the underneith of the car and I'm hoping to do it without going under the car.
