  5. Just read the ad again, yep, new engine, could be a bargain here people.
  6. Well heres the thing about it,not to sure as to what its like now, but, the lad who bought it came from Newport Pagnal(garage selling there to)with his father(who actualy paid the cash)i said at time you sure you will get insurance,he said no probs, works in a garage,so anyways about a fortnight later i get a call late one night, the lads been out with his mate in it around Newport/Milton Keynes he was going at some chat into roundabout, slowed booted it out then nasty noises from motor, clang clang etc, would hardly go much, told him to get it checked over proper, never heard back, wonder if it was engine break etc and its been rebuilt or what.Only thing wrong with it when i had it was knackerd discs and got them sorted.Must admit i have allways said to others was one of the quickest i had owned, mental accelleration even for an auto, talk about throw you back into seat, remember taking a mate out in it,he ended up white and shaking on me back garden steps after we got back, thought he was going to throw up,so funny. Found a pic :D Tony :)
  7. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1990-Nissan-300zx-Twin-Turbo-T-Top-SWB-No-Reserve_W0QQitemZ4635164903QQcategoryZ18238QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Must say cant believe it,sold it to a young lad about 3 and half years back, still looks good, only thing different is the zorst, must admit it did go like hell and handled like on rails, got an aftermarket ecu from top jap tuning house too, would love to have a blast in it again :D Tony
  8. all the work yesterday, thanks John. All started out well, decided to pull into service station on M40,needed some cash,no joy as both machines out of action,so back to car, thought i would phone Donna, put mobile on roof of Z,decided to program the sat nav, forgot about mobile drove off down motorway, probably shot off the roof at speed :D needles to say its not responding so prob smashed to bits under a truck. So on to Johns, soon after there we were out with the lap top/Conzult/Ecu,it certainly tested him, some very strange things going on at first, eventualy sorted a map to accommodate my set up after some very high speed runs up the private runway :D ,idle is now near to perfect, fueling improved(to lean at top)power up,loads more grunt, still at 10 psi as i no instructions for EVC with me and time was getting on but it shifts to say least("impressed"was Johns words so must be good!)with even more boost will be an animal.Hope your knuckle not to sore mate, was a nasty gash you did when sorting my Bovs(they turned out to be shot),boost leaks sorted, fuel reg bit iffy(have another to go on,thanks Shrimpy, and for the re-circs).One more thing a slight downside was at one point we were both in car in his drive, needed to start Z and turned out it had gone into gear, what could of been very nasty was lessend by Johns wheely bin that the front of the Z crushed a little, resulting in my bumper getting a small crack at bottom lip,so off to the paint shop again with that,oh well.Got home knackerd.Great day tho ;) Tony :)
  9. Phew, good news at last, lets hope it stays that way.Nice one bird.

  12. Belated birthday wish's mate, was out all day yesterday and just seen this, hope you had fun,Tony :)
  13. dear Oh dear, was hoping for better news this time bird,oh well, keep on going, you'll get there, think 7 teeth drop you will be ok,once helped a former member whos Z took me about 2 hours to start, hardly any power, ran like bag spanners, eventualy got it to Jeff TT and am sure he found belt had slipped about same amount, fingers crossed. Tony
  14. ,thing is its like a soap opera,"stay tuned for next weeks instalment"feel for him,i hope its all ok this time,a lot of us on here have had at some time had the down times owning these cars, and feel like giving up,think he is taking it in good spirit at moment, fingers crossed for you bird. Will defo pop in later to read the news. Tony :)
  15. Hi Mark, get what you mean there, cheers.May get TT pump will see, as i have maybe a slight change of plan(Z related ;) ) as for lean or rich my AFR seems to be telling me correctly, comes on to rich when WOT,so hopefully correct. :) Tony
  16. Nice one mate, certainly make a difference when chucking it about. ;)
  17. Thanks guys, may set the boost up better today, does rev to 7500 but only took it there once, seems to have 2 power bands,ie up to 5000rpm as you would then surge again to 7k+ quiet nice actually, one thing that has been suggested is that the Walbro pump is causing too much pressure at idle, but surley the fuel regulator(stock)would sort this, will see. Tony :)
  18. Smithy's Fuel Line Kit Smithy's Mirror Finish Throttle Cover & Plenum Strip Fuel Filter Shrimpys Gold Grounding Kit, and extra cables i had spare. Allso sprayed and lacquerd throttle cover. Replaced more hose/vac lines Fitted 3 rubber seal/gromits missing from coil pack connectors(cheers Pete ;) ) Fired up first turn, whaaay haaay,so much better, ran great, nice big kick and only 10psi(at moment ;) )just needs fine tuning (idle/tps/timing/maybe fuel correction). The idle is so much better,(did notice earth to inj/plenum was not to clever, and the fuel filter on intake side had a big kink in it!)but with my set up i dont think it will get much better, have now come to that conclusion after reading up on Venom inj and talking to a few bods, just one of those things with them, certainly looking forward to seeing what it kicks out when boost controller set up correctly and fine tuning done. ;) Tony A few pics,(any excuse :D )
  19. I did 170 on sunday,on a private road of course, just happens there was a biker on my tail too :D ps,not anywhere near flat out ;)
  20. Still using mine that i built just after John put up measurements, work bloody great. Tony :)
  21. I have 36 psi in my 17s,was running with 32psi but found it bit soft. Tony
  22. Yes Baz been going well, still have one or two issues, last few days been excellent, today parked up and fook me its now on 5,has to be electrical,as its done it before then went, need to get it on Conzult soon, exhaust sorted,no more rattle, all fresh underseal, have load of goodies to go on,just no time at moment, hopefully at Santa Pod sunday,Thoresby JapFest next couple months,JAE Peterborough, Tony :)
  23. Yes tend to agree, hard to do but not impossible, the learning curve with the Evo and likes are near max now, taken long time and mega money to get there,Macs in a way is an unknown quantity in the UK,Europe even, learning curve a lot more steep, but sure given time and setups should be there or there abouts.Would be interesting. Tony :)
  24. All i would like to see is Mac later in year up against his Evo,then when he gets beat say to him"not bad for a crap car with a crap engine, someone knows there stuff with them",make the tosser squirm would be my mission from god :D ps i like the Evo,had a manic Evo 1, 14 sec dead 1/4 at 10psi,did i keep it,nah, nothing like a Z. :) Tony
  25. Have you a pic of the damage, just that i had my Greddy bumper repaired and talking to the guy who made it look like new again said he had repaired a lot worse, just an idea. Tony
