  1. After many busy months and some waiting around for Z1 and CZP in the USA to get some stuff on back order, all my parts have arrived! I’ve somehow ordered two wiring harnesses though so will send one back. I’m easily confused by things. Opening those boxes were proper exciting! Cars off to Jim in October, and I cannot wait to get it back! Typically it’ll be in the middle of winter but I don’t care! In the meantime I’ve got to convert my utility room of my new house back to a garage to fit the car in to! Some of the bits I’ve got: Wiring harness 750cc injectors Garrett turbo cores Forged pistons Dual intake kit (for the noises!) and MAF kit Race bearings Z1 PCV hoses Urethane motor mounts And other new pipes, tubes, gaskets, thingamujigs and wassits.
  2. Where in the UK are you based mate?
  3. Sounds great Rich, lots of great upgrades there!
  4. Thanks mate, it was only a cheap one but I think it looks the part!
  5. Yes I thought about it but had already grown quite attached to it and could have easily about another one with the same issue. It’s a big investment but I know Jimmer will make it sweet as a nut and then it should run nicely for another 35 years! Probably out live me 😂
  6. Cheers chaps, had a lovely day thanks!
  7. An update! Cars running so nicely, it’s so smooth, but the smoking problem has persisted and I puts me off driving it if I’m honest. I can bimble around in it but I could do that in a 1.0 Fiesta. Soooooooooooo I’ve just spent £4k on a parts list provided by Jimmer for a full rebuild. I’m proper excited. Will basically be a brand new engine and running a bit more power when it’s done. Nothing mad but it’ll be quick, will have some excellent turbo and intake noises and most importantly will drive nicely as a street car and not leave a blue trail in my wake!!! I did install a new cheap stereo so I can have Bluetooth! Went retro as it kind of suits the age.
  8. I’m thinking that too, but it’s going to be difficult to stretch to that. It would at least mean a very well built and strong engine that I know will last. Keeps it originality a bit too. going to keep driving it in the mean time and enjoy it and see what happens. Feels like it’s got a terminal illness! 😂
  9. I’m trying not to feel too despondent right now. Car felt a bit down on power, seemed to be smoking quite a bit, so booked it in for a compression test. Ran the car out on Saturday to a Cafe and the smoke did seem to clear up so that was a positive. Then it went in to the garage and 5 cylinders seemed fine at 145-152, but one cylinder was down 20%. It’s at about 120. Spoke to Jimmer and he said it definitely is in trouble, the smoke suggesting piston rings and so therefore the engine needs replacing or a rebuild. Both expensive. So I’ve got a bit of a decision to make, not immediately (hopefully) but wondered what people thought. Sell it now - I’ll be totally honest about it, wouldn’t want to stitch anyone up. If so, what would it be worth? Difficult to guess I know. New engine - cheaper but would be a shame to lose the original engine. Am I just being sentimental and I shouldn’t worry about that? Rebuild - the most expensive option. But would be a nicely built, basically all new engine that should last for a long time and would hopefully retain some value being the original with the car. I might be clutching at straws but could it potentially be something less expensive? (Valves or something) Photo of it with my dads 968 on Saturday
  10. It was AI! I take no credit at all 😂
  11. New spark plugs. The old ones don’t look bad at all to be fair.
  12. New PCV valves in. I didn’t have replacement pipes, and managed to get the old pipe off without destroying it. Different story on passenger side. Had to cut that one off annoyingly. Got the new valve in and have ordered new Nissan pipes for both sides. There was a lot of oil in both pipes so will swap them both out. Will be a few weeks before it arrived though as it’s coming from Japan and they’re on a weeks holiday! Also replaced my air intake hoses with some lovely looking silicon Mishimoto ones. The old ones were is really good shape still to be fair but the new ones do look tidy!
  13. Uk staggered set so 2x7.5j and 2x8.5j Look fine from the front but would benefit from a refurb. Tyres are old and need replacing but hold air Located in LU7 9 £275
