No Spark - HELP PLEASE!!
Well.. I've been on the car all day.. Checked for loose connections everywhere (including underneath the car), changed my dash dials back to standard, cleaned electrical connections with contact cleaner, changed the ECU, checked the ECU harness, checked all the wiring inside the centre console ie stereo wiring. Everytime I checked something I checked my multimeter for 5volts at the PTU/ECU PTU output, and always got 0.04v, so didn't ever bother trying to start the car. 10 hours later, decide enoughs enough, I've done all I can, realised I'd left the ignition turned on for about an hour, and think well that's the battery dead, so turned the key to try, and fook me it started first time .. She was a bit lumpy to start with, but after warming up gave her some decent revs, and she purrs again, so decided to check the PTU input power.. still 0.04v  Put my old ECU back on.. Sarts first time.. So I don't know whether to be over the moon, or cautiously optamistic, but either way, pretty happy :nana2: Many thanks for your help with this problem guy's:bow:.. will keep you informed of any new developments, when I try and start it tomorrow lol.

No Spark - HELP PLEASE!!
No corrosion on the connections (car side) and registering 12.5 volts, but the wires insulation just crumbled when I removed the wire, but there was still a 12.5v current running through it, albeit uninsulated.

No Spark - HELP PLEASE!!
Just had a look Steve.. And I don't have a blue fuse  It looks like someone at some time has replaced a fuse with a permanent bridge, and I bet that's where the blue fuse should be.. Right?

No Spark - HELP PLEASE!!
Hi guys.. I have put my multimeter on the blue wires at the back of the ecu plug as directed, and I'm getting the same 0.04v reading :( I cannot find one other thing that doesn't work on the car, everything works as it should, including all the recently fitted items, although I have pulled it all out again to start from scratch, even put my old dials back in just incase :( but when installed, it all worked properly, DVD player, screen etc.. The only other things I know are not working on the car is the speedo, and reversing lights, I believe down to a faulty speed sensor, or broken wire.. But the car has been running for a few months like this now. I am absolutely stumped :( :( HAPPY DAYS... NOT :(

No Spark - HELP PLEASE!!
Thanks mate.. I just don't understand how it can happen, when the car is just sat on the drive.. I started it a few times after fitting the new bits, but didn't actually drive anywhere :(

No Spark - HELP PLEASE!!
Thanks for your reply Athene, apprecited :) I don't know whether it's just a coincidence that this electrical fault has occured since I fitted the dials and dvd player etc. The thing is though, that I have had the car started half a dozen times since everything was fitted, and it started fine, then one day, no spark. It looks like it's going to have to be an auto elctrician call-out :(.. I just wondered if a Conzult check would throw up the fault

What Next?
Just out of interest Marcus.. Have you got a spark at the plugs?

No Spark - HELP PLEASE!!
I've got voltage at the temp sensor, next to the PTU, which also looks to be in the same part of the loom.. Would a conzult check tell me the problem, bearing in mind now, it doesn't look like it's the ecu at fault?? Anyone  THANKS.

No Spark - HELP PLEASE!!
   Tried a different ECU today, very kindly loned to me by BIGSSS (Steve) Unfortunately, I still only have the same 0.04/0.05 volts registering from the PTU input plug :(:( and no spark at the plugs. So far tried: 1. New battery.. 2. Checked all the fuses I can find.. 3. Tried a different PTU.. 4. Tried a different Main ECU.. 5. Checked the AFM connection.. 6. Checked all the plug connections on the back of the dash cluster.. 7. Checked the main earthing points in the engine bay & boot.. 8. Checked the wiring connections & voltage supply to the fuel pump.. 9. Removed all recently installed equipment, even though it was all working correctly.. 10. Checked the ECU voltage output to the PTU - READING 0.04v.. 11. Checked voltage at the temp sensors.. She was running OK one day, and wouldn't start the next day  The last time I had it running I had some pretty heavy bass running through my subs, obviously causing a thudding vibration through the car.. Could this have done anything  Any further advice very much appreciated  THANKS

No Spark - HELP PLEASE!!
It appears I have a 0.04volt feed into the PTU .. This is just with ignition on, but not turning the car over, is that the correct way to test?? Thanks.

No Spark - HELP PLEASE!!
Will do mate, thanks.. I will check the fuel pressure tomorrow.. It is a bit odd, as after turning the engine over for quite a while, the plugs were bone dry  I haven't heard the fuel pump kick-in recently either, but don't know if that's just because it's already up to pressure.

Oh.. That's very good of you mate  I just hope whatever problem I have doesn't damage your ECU in any way :( And I will give it back ..lol

No Spark - HELP PLEASE!!
Yes mate.. Everything else works as it should, it turns over nicely, new battery, PTU.. Was running fine one day, then not the next. Haven't got anyone to borrow an ECU off, will have to buy one :( Appreciate your reply ;)
