Use Lo Salt . It contains 66% less sodium than regular salts . I use it , `cause I can`t do without salt on food . It`s just as tasty .

Thanks , Groover . I did use copper grease. The main thing , for me , is those missmatched ( ie 4 , as opposed to 2 ) "wells " in the Mintex pads . I`ll see how it performs minus original shims , then decide whether I need them . :duffer:

I started to change my front pads today . The only time I`ve done this job before was about 20 years ago , and I`m kinda out of practice ! The backs of the old ones had some kind of softish material with indentations where the two (large) pistons make contact . No shims to be found . The new pads , Mintex 1144 , have four much smaller circles cast deep into the backs and are supplied with a flimsy bit of soft plastic material which doesn`t cover much of the back of the pad . Are they compatible with my calipers ? Just looking for some reassurance because , call me old fashioned , I think brakes can sometimes be important on a car , particularly a quick and heavy one lol I realise that , to the experienced among you , this is probably one of the stupidest questions ever , but humour me . Ta in advance :D

I`m not mocking him . It must be difficult trying to defend his faith against all odds . And reason , for that matter . They don`t like dealing with reason .

Yes , it `s true that nobody can prove that anything doesn`t exist : it`s impossible . Science , however , is a rigorous and painstaking discipline . All theories have to stand up to the highest levels of scrutiny before being accepted by the scientific community . For some reason , believers in god(s) seem to absolve themselves from any obligation to provide a glimmer of proof . It`s "faith " , therefore we don`t need any proof ! As for " Atheism " , I`m with Doctor Jonathan Miller on this . Why have a word at all for not believing in god ? Lots of people don`t believe in fairies , but they`re not lumped together under a collective noun .

I feel for all of you who have suffered the pain of loss . However , belief , or disbelief , in this "god " is not about emotions . Those that "believe " have generally been exposed to indoctrination at an early age and it has stayed in their psyche so strongly that they are either afraid to , or unable to question it logically . Fear of expressing disbelief in the face of some kind of divine retribution . I was baptised a Roman Catholic , taught first by nuns and then by the Christian B*stard Brothers of Ireland , but I didn`t get that at home . The indoctrination from those schools didn`t stick with me . To have parents who drum it into a child as well must be an almost irresistable influence . But it`s obvious that the only way these "faiths" can possibly survive in this day and age ( it is the 21st century ! ) is to keep up this vile practice of influencing young and extremely vulnerable minds and preventing them from exploring other philosophies and science itself for explanations of what young minds are thirsty for : proper and proveable knowledge . Phew !

Why would they have to evolve into " another one " ? What are you talking about ? Evolution means gradual development , not changing into " another " species . There is no need to " keep god out " . God , like fairies and little green men , doesn`t even come into it .
