Are these brake discs+pads ok ?
Thanks , lads . Especially Cyrus , for that full and comprehensive answer  . I`m not running increased power , just a standard TT . I need new discs because the current ones failed the MOT . http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=134648 Anyway , I`ve just ordered some DBA discs and Mintex pads from Dan at DTA . Ta

MOT Failure : New discs needed
The car ( a J-spec TT ) failed its MOT today and the garage proprietor , unbeknownst to me , ordered front discs ( non-Nissan parts ) at £110 . I`m not at all sure about the quality at that low price . My current ones are drilled and grooved ( and fubarred lol ) . The nearside caliper is binding too , another fail point . And apparently I need new pads even though the current ones are hardly used . Advice and recommendations please , maestros

pay as you go insurance
That did occur to me after I`d posted . I can`t see insurance companies ignoring something like that

pay as you go insurance
I was just thinking today how little I drive my car and how much it costs round here , ie Residents` Parking Permit goes up about 9% every year : it`s £132 at the moment :mad2: So that`s interesting

battery earth
On yet another tangent : Listen to " Positively Fourth Street " , a brilliant put-down song by Bob Dylan from the 60s . Genius at work
-
battery earth
I`m positive that the battery is both negative and positive , therefore neutral . The car , however , is negative earthed , I`m fairly positive about that .
-
battery earth
Negative :)

New PTU but still not good
Would that not affect performance , `cause it still goes as quickly as ever ? ( I cleaned that up a bit ;) ) I`ve considered dirty PTU contacts , but then surely it would be faulty all the time ? Anyway , Thanks Smithy , Vijay and AthonyD . Much appreciated . Keep `em coming ! :D Brian

New PTU but still not good
You can hardly see it , mate ! It is a Series 2 one though : all plastic apart from the bracket . The car starts first time at operating temp , but if I take my foot off the throttle , the revs drop and you get that sickening feeling as the steering suddenly gets really heavy `cause it`s stalled :headvswal lol
-
New PTU but still not good
Fitted a new ECU temp sensor but still no improvement . Does anyone on here sell connectors . Mine was brittle and cracked . Maybe new ones to the PTU wouldn`t do any harm either .
