Just wondered how bad it is for a z, been reading other forums and most of them say steer clear? anyone got any experiences from using it? noticed small leak from rad....

It is bad news Lisa, as well as bunging up your leak it also blocks your radiator. That said, if you intend on replacing or getting it refurbed, as a short term solution it is probably OK. Mind you the zed does build up quite a bit of pressure in the cooling system, normal cars rad caps are about 7lbs whereas the Zed is 12lbs, so it might not work.

personally i would stay well clear of it. ive never used it nor every will. surely its not good for the system possible cloging up all sorts of stuff.

sounds like a good time to upgrade your rad;)

Thats what I wanted to hear, thanks John. Only replaced it few weeks ago and hardly driven it, cos where the pipe joined the rad on my last one had broke on the neck. So will have to see my mate who I bought it from for a refund I think:(

Ok, cheers guys I WONT be using it, just going to investigate the leak now...will get back to ya all:)

nasty stuff. You should see the mess inside after its been used.

what he said, used it once for about q week, never again, the sludge thats left when you flush the cooland system is unbelievable. i spent 10 mins with a hose flushing the system till the water wasnt thames brown

Flushed the water system and a great lump of rusty gunge came out the bottom of rad, top it all back up and not leaking now, possibly the water was not flowing and built up pressure in engine so was causing maybe the pipes to leak somewhere....

i would still check for leaks as once its leaking it wont fix its self. like you said, hopefully it was just excess preasure and a pipe/hose just needs resealing. good luck with it Lisa:)

Lisa, ive got my standard rad lying around if you want it.

Oh, will keep that in mind Nick, thanks. Will take it to the meet and see how it goes. If still a problem will take you up on that mate:cool:

Bodge job! You may as well stick lawnmower oil in the engine and run it on low grade fuel.

Ok,point taken...not going to use it was just asking to see if anyone had any good reports on it, obviously not,lol...

i used it in the saxo i run around in and all ok, wouldnt use it on me zed though!

I WONT BE PUTTING IT IN,lol. Nick's kindly sending me his and I'm going to flush the engine and fit his rad and hope for it to be sorted, but as said its not leaking at mo, but going to change anyway cos the one I have is very rusty and dont want it in my z sending shitty water around my engine
