Well i have now had the pleasure of driving both TT's & NA's as an owner and can honestly say the NA is bloody great as well :hyper:....different in the way it pulls you about but i really like it...it still shoves you back in your seat and gives a really involved driving experience...i'm pleasently surprised so any TT owners on here thinking NA's are the poor brother of the TT you better go drive one :)

I have an NA and it's great, still very quick and handles really well.

Also mine has no driver aids so costs less when things go wrong - no ABS, HICAS and Tubbies to go wrong and have repaired at great expense

the snobs in the tt's dont know what there missing LMAO!!! i love my NA !! i want it back on the road i need power!!!

Thats nice...

So.... when the first time someone asked you if it was a turbo how did it make you feel?

was that aimed at me?

if so i said "it was the relaible non turbo as the tt's were well overated"!! LOL

AND IT DONT BOTHER ME ONE BIT AS MOST PEOPLE OFF THE STREET DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT MAKE IT IS LET ALONE WHAT ENGINE IT HAS

I went from a tt to an na and i love it so much more

It pulls much lower down, doesn't feel like you're driving a giant elastic band, sounds better, better on the fuel and as my quarter mile time proved it's actually quicker although i am running lightened clutch/flywheel, lightened pulleys and tt injectors

Mr John Dixon is going to fettle with it the end of this month then we'll really see what it can do :D

The NAs are good, very good.

It's all in the gearing. If you have the NA final drive on a TT then you will see a real kick in the back...

I remember racing a TT with my first NA and upto 60 the tt has it, then the na catches up to 90 then the tt pulls away again

I own both an NA and a SWB TT and fully agree the NA is in no way a lesser car but different, plus my NA is probably a better looking car than a lot of the TTs out there so most people dont care what engine is in it :p:p

I've had both now, and got to say, I was very very impressed with the performance of the NA manual, and would not hestitate to own another, but it HAS to be a manual in NA.. IMO :)

I loved my old NA Manual. A different car to drive than the TT.

I would take a NA Manual over a TT Auto anyday.

well lets be truthful Richard ... Your Red NA is one of the best looking 300Zxs in Britain:bow:

IMO of course ... having seen it personally

I don't know - mine's just about getting their now just the purple respray and the vinyls to come off and it'll be sorted ;)

I like the NA's engine characteristics to the tt's its more gutsy and it feels quicker than the tt

They may be gone for folville this tuesday but got alot of sewing of black leatherette to do before then ;) :smash:

Im suprised you said that Nick. IMO the NA "feels" a lot slower in comparison to the TT than it actually is, by that I mean the performance difference is'nt as great as it feels when driving. The opposite to what you said.

Its the torque surge difference I notice the most, but I do love the way a NA feels when your giving them a good thrashing :D

But then I do also know from first hand experience than your NA is a lot quicker than other NA's.

OOOOH! you will look good in black leatherette:eek:

What are you making?? Trousers?? jacket???:wack:

:D:D:D

Legrath, my old na did feel slow but with the lightened flywheel and pulleys and that tt set of injectors it really does haul like a train at low revs.

Anybody who has an na and wants a bit improvement really should try it as a combo.

I also have a Z1 twin intake to fit which when it was on made it even quicker but the mapping wasn't right at the time. John is going to set it up properly for me this time so hopefully i should be pushing the 245+bhp mark

Cheeky sod, i'm making that gimp suit you asked me too last week petey baby

I've driven both and, honestly, I wouldn't buy a TT again. Too much feckin' hassle. The NA we're driving (I say we as technically it's the missus' car) whilst performing the V8 swap (also an NA Nissan engine ;)) is an absolute joy to drive, an incredibly responsive engine that you can chuck about with abandon. People bang on about the "kick in the pants" you get from the turbos (no offence to those that have said that already! ;)) as if this is a good thing...it isn't. A big dollop of power but nothing in the lower ranges and very laggy when you're feathering it at full pelt against another car. I respect the TT but I sure as sh1t wouldn't buy one again. Performance aside, the cost when the turbos eventually go pop is ridiculous. I love our NA Z, so much so it's having the exact opposite done to what my other, more lairy project Z is: getting returned to "factory", "as new" condition, bar a few little touches such as the lightweight 18" Volks Racing alloys I have for it.

With stock wings (I really really hope you get rid of those viper wings) and removal of the sticker desease, that car will look really spot on. Wheels look great on it and I WANT THAT ****ING SPOILER!!

As for N/As, they make great daily drives. I like both, but love the punch you from the TTs, they have a much more refined burble than the somewhat raspy N/A. A lot of people think the N/As sound better where as I prefer the TT burble by a long shot.

I personally wouldn't buy an N/A, ever in replace of a TT. It's just not the car for me. I wanted the Turbos, I love the performance, the feel of boost, the whoosh, the ease of which the engine pulls when on boost. Just gives you a nice warm feeling especially when the passengers turn round after a bit of boost and say 'fook me that pulls like a trooper!'.

I'd have one as a daily driver though. :)

To me the NA engine is what the 300ZX was designed for, a fantastic engine with a car designed around it, in this car nothing surprises you and it is balanced!

In the TT rules were meant for breaking :)

I'd have one as a daily driver though. :)

in all honesty that comment just screams snobbery to me. as if saying it was an old mundano or ford ****tus!!!

appreciate it for what it is.! a ****ing damn good car simple as in any discise we all love it for what it makes us feel.

i dont need an unrelable money pit. hence i bought an NA

It wasn't actually!! I'm guessing you're just taking things a bit personally. There's a reason you bought an NA and there's a reason why I bought a TT, I'd have one as a DD because the reliability issues and the fuel consumption, although I believe that on a long motorway run, the TT is slighty better. That was my reasoning, NOTHING else.
